D.I.Y. A/C build and box upgrade

first two pics are before the upgrade

we stripped a ice machine and a stuffed aircon unit.
we used the compressor from the ice machine and custom made the evaporator and condenser from the scrap a/c unit.

repainted, fitted flush fans on a flush timer as the AC will be a closed circut grow and will need air exchange for CO2.

AC not running yet, finishing the weekend with the gassing of the AC

will post more pics when done and running.

Ingenious way of putting some junk to good usage. Keep us posted on the outcome and thanks for sharing some of that savvy of yours. Also the little girl looks very healthy, nice work.

Thx @garybo , gathering the brazing pack, vacuum pump, gas and gauges today, re-gassing tonight and fitting rear cover.

oh my i couldnt have hoped for better, with AC on full blast it cools down to 9 deg C, obviously wont be having my ladies in that.

have set it for 25deg C now for veg.

the reason i needed the AC was it coming into our summer now where it can get to 35 deg C which would not work for flowering.

have started a new journal, for who would like to follow the progress

Mango Kush & GSC 2nd Grow

have started a new grow same specs as my last grow, same nutes, lighting 2 x GSC - clones 1 x Mango kush - Monster cropped re-vegged clone just waiting on the GSC to catch up with the Mango, so Mango isnt in my box yet super excited about this one, with my upgraded box with AC

hi @GrowTek we bought an AC units brain(PCB) with auto restart function for if the power goes off, then it can continue where it was before power went off

came with an AC remote so its literally a fully functioning AC unit.

the PCB came with 2 probes, one for air temp and one for line temp to kill the compressor should the core freeze up.

i have turned it off for now as im in veg and heat not such an issue in veg.

it works like a bomb and am very chuffed with our little project

if you would like to follow my Mango Kush/GSC journal to see when i do flower what temps and RH i get

here in SA our summers are hot and humid, so the AC will work to cool and Dehumidify, we made a drip tray on the inner core where the moisture will condensate and collect.

did a bit of laser engraving on the lower doors where the compressor is housed, that will eventually become my de-humidifier + humidifier + catchments home

The insulation of the box needs work ofcourse, even had to do a makeshift drip tray with all the condensation
