Daly City Considers Moratorium On Pot Dispensaries

DALY CITY, Calif.–Daly City officials are set to consider placing a moratorium on marijuana dispensaries in the city.

After getting what Mayor Michael Guingona describes as "10 or less" inquiries in the last year from people considering setting up dispensaries, the City Council on Monday will discuss placing a 45-day moratorium on the establishment of dispensaries.

The mayor says a moratorium would give city officials time to research the issues surrounding marijuana dispensaries.

Though neighboring San Francisco does allow medical marijuana dispensaries to operate, the nearby cities of South San Francisco, San Bruno and Redwood City have placed temporary bans on the establishments.
