DD Stable Of Impermanence

Hello 420ville

Welcome to my

Stable Of Impermanence

All contributions - from the most pointy headed botanical science, to jokes about my nom de net or anything else for that matter - are openly invited and warmly welcomed.

I especially want anyone to chime in who shares the multiple frustrations of trying to use cannabis as medicine in a climate of political prohibition.

I had a not-too-shabby first round and got a dozen or so ounces out of our 3’x3’x5.5’ jungle room under 400w HPS.

The garden is still recovering having been shut down for security reasons. There were days of sub 0*C, and I was only able to look in on them once in three weeks - and I wished I didn’t.

Change is the only constant here in the Stable of Impermanence. I am changing five bagseed beauties and five of their clones back into healthy plants.

Some things change, some stay the same. Here’s the fifth in a series of five. Collect them all..

And it’s always 420 right here and we’re loving it!

I learned a lot on our first run. My goal now is to replicate that as best I can while learning other new things this time.

While I am opening the stable doors on another blooming garden I will be looking at it through the lens of ‘how can I make this medicine more effective for me?’

Don’t worry I’m not going to bore you with my problems I am not that kind of donkey. All signs, symptoms, etc - hopefully even a diagnosis one day - will be discussed either in the context of cannabis as medicine, or while vaping my own body weight.

Enough braying!

I infused another batch of oil the other day..

Sealing in a pouch and freezing after the decarboxylation is meant to preserve terpenes.

Pierce the foil lid for a pressure-releasing pin hole.

24 hrs in fridge before use to ‘set’ the chemical processes of the lecithin.

You see I put 1/3c in and got 1/4c out. Next time I’ll press the filter between some pieces of metal in a G clamp to go for that bit more.

I can’t get Shed and Old Bear’s spreadsheet to work on our crappy laptop. I tried a couple of free apps too, neither worked. As best I can figure the working out, the numbers go like this:

I’m starting with a guess. I have triangulated my perception of the potency of our bagseed Isabelles against Black Domina and S.A.G.E. and Sour and I’m starting by guessing our girls have 20% THC. It isn’t modest, but nor is Isabelle.

10g->8.8g-0.7g=8.1g @20% THC
1/3c~85ml @85% efficiency

20% of 8.1g=1.62g THC total
1.62x0.85 (efficiency) =1.4g
1.4gx85ml=0.0165
=16.5mg/ml
=8.25mg/capsule

Thanks for coming, folks!
Bring on the meds...

You know I’m down for this DD. Great start to the new journal mate and I’ll be asking some questions soon about these oil caps as I can think of a few people in my family could benefit from them.

So glad you guys made it :slide: I know the three of us here so far all find cannabis useful enough for our own reasons that we are going outside the law to get it done.

I found this stray one already up here, must’ve gotten missed in the pushing and shoving of putting the opening montage together for you..

The garden is doing ok, but she isn’t ready for visitors yet. For a few weeks there it was a bit like visiting a crash survivor in a hospital with no mirrors and pretending your smile is genuine not just brave.

She’s gonna be fine though. I’d love to do a loft conversion like yours, Pres. That’s where my little tent is now. I’m starting to regain some traction on having my higher power rerelease preapproved expansion plans. For now I’m... braying agin.

The capsules are very good for the pain I have, but all I can say is the best specialist guy at this end of the country hasn’t decided wtf is in front of him. Which is a roundabout way to explain that it’s no good to anyone else for me to say the capsules are great until I can say with accuracy what it is they are great for.

A lot of other reasons we employ the good plant. I know we are privileged to know stuff about each other that even people close to us don’t know. From reading our bits here and there. Just want to say again I respect your guys’ choices in doing what you have to do to get it done.

I’m done. This bath is cold
That’s my two songs it must be somebody else’s turn with the mic..

Cheers.

Hey, Double D. Thanks for posting a link from the old place to the new place. You can be Ruth and I'll be Naomi. :)

Just trying to put the welcome mat out for you Al. You know I’m missing the pop culture reference you’re making, but sure. I’d rather be a donkey called Ruth than a boy called Sue.

Tell us, Al. You don’t use cannabis yourself and you’ve mentioned workplace testing as a reason. But is it legal to grow where you are? It’s absolutely laudable what you’re doing, I just wondered if there was this other daft risk factor that goes with what you’re doing?

Not sure the bible qualifies as pop culture any more (Naomi told Ruth "Where you go I will go...").

At least you aren't an eeyore. :D

I'm in California so it's legal in my state, though still illegal at the national level. There are professional concerns, including the ever potential workplace random test. Despite that and a couple other smaller concerns I am warming to the idea.

I meant I’ll be Ruth since I’m following you. Haha.

I'm in for this ride, great idea DD. :thumb:

Made it page 1! Thanks for the link DD. Nice oil-making tutorial and your calculation came in within 0.3 mg/ml of the spreadsheet, so you obviously don't need it :thumb:.

You are most welcome here, sir!
Thank you for double checking my working out :nerd-with-glasses:Happy to be within cooey.

Kiaora e hoa. Tena koe.
Hello from Aotearoa, New Zealand.
May as well stop being coy about it as prohibition is on the table in the Stable.

And..
I'm in for this ride, great idea DD. :thumb:

Hi, John welcome aboard. Now, I know you use cannabis for pain.. anything you want to share here will be useful mate.

I'm still on the learning side of making edibles DD, so this thread is beneficial to me.

My edible go-to thread:

We have a few Aussie growers here as well.

Unfortunately DD, it's not recreational yet, but moving that way.

Hey DD, feeling ya pain from across the Tasman brutha.... Legalize our Meds!
At the moment medical is a joke here, as it is there.
