Hello everybody, let me introduce myself. I am the typical old person who use to partake in whatever was around back in the 80s. All I really remember was buying 3 for $5, smoking and getting very paranoid. I was reintroduced to the plant about a year ago when I was doing research on CBD to be used by my son for essential tremors. I also have a tremors and contemplated using the plant as a more holistic way to control my tremors. Now it seems that I have fallen into trying to grow the plant as a hobby, right in time for the legalization here in Michigan.

I appreciate all comments and criticisms that this community can offer. Bring it on!!!

Here is my setup for the first grow. A lot of equipment was given to me by a few disgruntled growers who probably didn't have the backing of a community for assistance.

My first grow:

Strain: Chemdawg (Seeds from friend)
Environment: Basement holds a steady 65 degrees with 50% humidity
Tent: 24x48x72
Lighting: VIPARSPECTRA Reflector Series V300 300W
Pot: 5 Gallon Smart Pot
Medium: Mother Earth Coco 70% + Perlite 30%
Nutrients: Flora Series (Micro, Grow, Bloom) + Dankin 420 Series
Small Oscillating fan (on when the lights are)
Small Humidifier (on when the lights are)
Small Heater (on when the lights are)
Small Desk Fan (on an independent schedule)

Seed germinated in paper towel and was transferred to a cup sitting on a window sill with dirt from a old planter.

June 14, 2019:
Picture is showing the plant in not so nice soil. Pretty excited about the progress.

She was put into the grow tent under 18 hrs of light and tent kept at about 80 degrees.
The light was positioned at the very top of the tent. These pics are from the next day.

June 18, 2019:
She was watered with plain tap that was left out for a few days (didn't have a ph meter yet). The humidifier was added. Temps are 80 and RH at about 60% while the lights are on. When the lights and heater are off the temp drops to about 70 and humidity seems about 60ish.

June 20, 2019
Observed roots along the side of the cup so I decided to repot into the 5 gallon Smart Pot using Mother Earth Coco 70% + Perlite 30%. Straight watered with a gallon of 6.2ph

June 21, 2019
Added a small desk fan blowing into one of the bottom holes in the tent. Runs for 1 hour, four times a day to bring in fresh air. This is controlled by a WiFi enabled plug which is scheduled thru my phone.

June 25, 2019
Water with a gallon included Flora nutes of 1/4 tsp of Micro, 1/4 tsp of Grow and 1/4 tsp of Bloom. Water ph at 6.6

June 27, 2019
Lowered light to about 30 inches above canopy (who am I kidding, i got 4 leaves).

Coco can you bring the pH down to 5.7-5.9 then once flower maybe bring up to 6.1-.6.3 coco is like hydro . Make sure there is air movement in that tent . Also make the coco perlite and put into fabric pot even drying and air prune roots . You got this

Looking good bud! Drop that pH a smidge, 5.8-6.2 is perfect for coco

I am so new that I thought Hydro was only when the roots are submerged into the water. I see the coco/perlite and it looks like soil, so I PHed based on that. Now i know it is actually HYDRO and will PH accordingly. I appreciate the comment

Thanks for those numbers, I will have them hanging near the tent to remind me every time I water.

So far so good now that I have started watering everyday with 1/4 strength nutes and ph 5.8 water. I don't see anything getting worse. Lowering light to 20 inches. I have to stop comparing my girl to others on the internet at 24 days since germination because i feel that she is a dwarf. I know I had watering issues so that could be the reason but she is so small. Time will tell.
