Should Marijuana Be Legalized? That's the topic to be discussed at a panel discussion organized by the Roseau Public Library on Thursday 12 January 2017.

This panel discussion, which will be held at the Pointe Mitchel Community Center from 7PM, coincides with Drug Awareness Month which is observed in January annually.

"This would afford people the opportunity to gain knowledgeable information on marijuana and legalization whether it should or should not," Librarian at the Roseau Public Library Renata Charles told Vibes Radio.

The panelists will include Superintendent of Police Claude Weekes, Attorney at Law Henry Shillingford, Dr Phillip St. Jean, Martha Jarvis of the Drug Prevention Unit and Kester Toussaint of the House of Nyabinghi and will be moderated by Officer In Charge at the University of the West Indies Open Campus, Kimone Joseph.

The Public Library is also offering free transportation to those who require that facilitation as according to Charles, this is a very important, interesting and educational topic and that there are those who are for and against the legalization of marijuana.

"So we are therefore, seeing that we've taken the time to put this panel discussion together, we would be very grateful for a large turnout of persons, particularly adults and young adults to this discussion," Charles stated.
