Doozy's 2300W LED - 5x5 - Dinafem Seeds - 1st Grow

Susat, it's only certain brands that do it, mine are fine with an illuminated extension.

Talking of power what fuse is in the main board to run your room? Is it big enough to handle it all on full chat? Do you have a contactor for your timer? You'll blow timers for fun with all that kit

Tested the Mrs. hair dryer and it's pulling twice as much at the plug as my entire grow tent. New fuse board but tbh i'm not worried at all about the pull on the fuse board, my shower is on a separate circuit also so i don't have to worry about using both at the same time.

1.4kw is really bugger all in the grand scheme of things. :)

In my house (that Jack built) I'd probably set the place on fire with that lot.:)
You didn't say if you've got a contactor to stop your timer blowing, I know I needed one when I was on HPS with a ballast, too much power in one hit frazzles them so they stop working, even Grasslin ones that claim to handle massive loads.

I've brought susat over from the dark side (UK site) He's a hydro guy so he'll be able to help with anything in that regards whilst I do your plant health, environment & training techniques :thumb:

Talking of the dark side, it all started kicking off on my thread, one of the team (distracted) was being a smart arse & a couple of anti-LED guys were giving it plenty, chronic1 was the main culprit. I kept it cool & showed I had class but reported every negative & abusive mention. I checked it today & all of it has gone :) I hope those responsible had their arses slapped for it mate, there's no need for it.

Fuck that useless pile of shit of a forum (the UK version of this site for all who are interested), and all who sail on her (yourself and wizard et al aside)

I have no time for cheap, penniless, backward thinking, extreme left wing, sandal wearing, hippy assclowns.

I'm more upset with myself that i spent so long trying to placate those poor (in more ways than one) idiots.

Moving on.... ;)

From what i've read mate they're not needed with LEDs due to the way in which the units draw power. I'll find the post and link you to it but contactor relays are effectively only useful for HPS/MH (happy to hear otherwise if anyone has input)

:)

Fair play mate, I'm clueless & it was just an idea. I've just rigged mine up coz I had it but I have no idea what it does to be honest. I'm not electricity minded & don't know how anything works. TV & radio still seems like magic to me :)

If in doubt get a powerplant timer/contactor they're only a tenner and 22 amp rated, ive used one with a 600 for ages, also some are saying you can go to 1000 wt + , saves a lot of cables, not sure I'd go 1kw + but use 2 , and they're solid. Go to the dock on the Bay , and c what you think . Also if u wanna cover everything get an RCD plug in version, it'll trip b4 anything else.

Haha, I'm glad I'm not alone. I know it works on radio waves but WTF is a radio wave? We're surrounded by them but how do they get here & how does it turn into pictures & sound?
I can just about get my head round the gramaphone producing sound but how the fcuck do they get the instruments & voices on the record & into the grooves?

It is witchcraft I'm convinced of it, there's no other explanation :thedoubletake:

Just a quick update, i've finished making my SCROG screen today, but i won't be putting it in until the last minute as i'm pushed for space so want as much room above the plants to do the LST'ing before i put it in. anyway here it is....it's made using batten (2/1) screws and string. The batten is just covered in gaffer tape for aesthetic reasons

Here's a picture of the nutes etc that i'll be using, and also a pic of the EC and PH meters from Voltcraft (excellent bits of kit imo)

Also DON'T buy one of the water pumps i got, it's utter crap as can be seen from the pics, it basically fell apart inside, i'll either be getting a new and better version or i'll look at getting a wet vac to pump out the res's. Any other ideas would be very welcomed.

Cheers, and here's looking forward to germinating on Tuesday!! :)

Cheers mate, yeah the EC meter is also great. No idea why more people don't use Voltcraft, they shit all over the Bluelabs truncheons imo, and for less money!!

Water pump is a bag of shit, so i'll be spending a few more quid tomorrow :( already wayyyyy over budget but i suppose i need to just buy quality now and buy once. Cheap Chinese crap doesn't seem to work very well most of the time....lol oh well! :)

well well well, this is like led porn!!

i have a mate in uk just like you doozy, he started as an electrician , and now designs microchips, and you really remind me of his first grow, suspended ceilings and more gadgets and equiptment than a fucking NASA headquarters pmsl!!

and he grew absolutely amazing weed the first time round.. last thing i heard from him he had brought land and had made a house designed to gro underground in.. fuck knows hes a boi i tell ya!!

infact all the electricians i worked with in uk are light addicts lol even if they dont smoke !

im subbed, this will be a fucking cool one :)

forgot to say-- REPS FOR PREPS ARE WELL EARNED DOOZY :):bravo:

Thanks loads for your kind comments mate, it's been a bit of an obsession which has only become a reality by people posting their experiences in journals etc, so i hope to try and help others by making a journal on here.

I know i'll get into tricky situations as lets face it, i haven't actualluy grown a plant yet!! But fingers crossed the research will pay off!

My mate tells me i just like 'tinkering' with stuff lol, so i must admit i've enjoyed creating the tent modifications and the bubblers from scratch, but as i said, the proof will be in the grow so fingers crossed it'll work out.

Thanks again mate. :)

I love my Voltcraft mate, excellent piece of kit :)
Budget, never have a budget, this hobby just gobbles money for fun :)
Have you started germinating your seeds yet & have you got a clf to get them started or are you hitting them straight off with LED?

Thanks OTM, I love helping people out :)
