The people behind Dr. Bronner's are just as concerned about legalizing cannabis as they are creating high-quality skin care products.

The Vista, Calif.-based company dedicated to producing all-natural organic body care products will donate over $660,000 towards responsible marijuana legalization initiatives in California and four more states slated to vote on the matter this November, reports the Cannabist.

Following a move to leave the Organic Trade Association over removing mandatory GMO labels, CEO David Bronner decided instead to use their resources to help current ballot campaigns to raise the minimum wage, provide animal welfare, and reform marijuana laws.

Working with allies New Approach and the Marijuana Policy Project, Dr. Bronner's donations will help go into responsible cannabis legalization and regulation campaigns in California, Massachusetts, Maine, Arizona and Nevada.

"The expected sweep of these states will exert enormous pressure on federal lawmakers to end the racist outdated policy of cannabis prohibition, that shreds productive citizens' lives and families for no good reason, and focus law enforcement resources instead on actual crime," Dr. Bronner's officials wrote in an announcement released Monday.

Dr. Bronner's is a long-time supporter of cannabis legalization efforts, as David Bronner also dedicated resources to California's failed effort in 2014.
