Drilling side holes in the pot question

Hi, new here.
Just started my first grow, and after 2 weeks i transplanted my girls from 0.5L pot to 2.5 Liter pots.
i have done it after the roots on my babys started to clump at the bottom of the small pots however,
i think i have waterd them too much because the pot might be bit too big.
As i understand the problem is not enough oxygen for the roots, so im thinking
that maybe drilling little holes in the sides of my pots might help.
Any one tried this? and if you have any tips it will be very helpfull.

THANK YOU in advance and god bless you.

drill either on the bottom.
or around the outside towards bottom of the pot.

or, heat up a screwdriver, and it melts through lovely
