Drink More Water When You Smoke Cannabis

85% of all Americans are chronically dehydrated. In 47% of Americans (especially the elderly) the thirst mechanism is so weak it is often mistaken for hunger. Even MILD hydration will slow down one's metabolism as much as 40%. One glass of water shuts down hunger pangs for almost 100% of dieters. Lack of water is the #1 trigger of daytime fatigue.

Lack of water is the #1 cause of constipation. Lack of water is the # 1 cause false signs of dementia or memory loss. Dehydration mimics heart attack symptoms. Water clears the complexion and removes impurities from the body. Water aids in & improves digestion. 8-10 glasses of water a day could significantly ease back and joint pain for 80% of sufferers & lubricates joints

A mere 2% drop in body water can trigger fuzzy short term memory, confusion, trouble with basic math and difficulty focusing on computer screen or printed page. Drinking 5 glasses of water daily, decreases the risk of colon cancer by 45% plus it can slash the risk of breast cancer by 79%, and one is 50% less likely to develop bladder cancer.

If You Wait Until You're Thirsty, to drink, You're Already Dehydrated. Water regulates your body's temperature. Elderly people often feel chilled in the heat because they do not drink enough water. You cant depend on thirst as a signal to drink. Having a dry mouth is a later sign of dehydration. Only as dehydration progresses do you notice that you're thirsty. In addition, the thirst sensation also diminishes with age so you may not know you are thirsty.

Becoming dehydrated can be serious enough to cause a stroke!

"Most of us do not drink enough water, and as a result, our blood becomes more viscous, increasing the likelihood that a clot will suddenly form at the site of a plaque formation."

How do you know you are dehydrated? Symptoms include :

Dizziness
Headache
Dark urine (may have a strong odor)
Inability to urinate
Dry mouth and nose
Weakness
Chills
Fatigue
Nausea and vomiting
Dry mouth and tongue

Dehydration Symptoms in the Elderly:

Dehydration symptoms in the elderly can be different than in young adults. Medications that the elderly take are much more likely to lead to dehydration in that population. One particular symptom of dehydration more pronounced in the elderly is poor skin elasticity. When the skin is pinched, it holds its form rather than returning to its normal shape.

Since COVID hit, I have been stuck at home drinking coffee like no tomorrow, and of course smoking weed like nobodies business.

This popped out Monday (not the penny). Going back to drinking lots of water while I smoke lots of weed!

I drink about 6 bottles of water a day, but it is flavored water, does that still count for all the health benefits mentioned in original post?

I’m a huge advocate of using urine as an organic fertilizer and you wanna make sure your water level is high for that.

These are great reminders, especially that dehydration can be mistaken for hunger for up to half of us. It's too easy to forget. I've found that setting a few reminder alarms on my phone, and then downing a tall glass of water whenever they go off, has helped me to be better about it.

Hmm.... does the water used to make my coffee count?

Great tips and good info though! Thanks!
Yes & no. The water is good, but coffee is a diuretic and causes you to urinate, so you end up needed a bit more water. I'm a bit of a hypocrite for pointing this out as I drink coffee and tea and often fail to replace the fluids, but caffeine does promote urination, so you need drink additional liquid if you include caffeinated drinks...

Drinking lots of water is also a great way to prevent getting kidney stones, a horrible experience I had to endure last Christmas. PAIN beyond imagination, I've broken bones before too, and the pain from those were NOTHING compared to kindey stones. Drink an assload of water people! And keep on toking the sacred plant :ganjamon::peace:
Tip. If you had kidney stones they are likely to recur. Doctors who want you to get kidney surgery won't tell you that you can avoid the recurrance by adding sodium bicarbonate. Just be careful not to exceed the amount recommended daily. It should say it on the box...

Yep - I shop according to who has the best washrooms!!! I may not know where the milk, eggs or wrenches are but I can get to the urinal with my eyes closed!!! :thumb:
Just like George Costanza!

Is it possible that when I smoke daily weed and quit for a while... I pee much more during the first 3 days. Anyone else noticed this?
Feels like frozen body is awakening and going a little wild. Also Emotions were frozen and pop up all together which I didn't felt when I was stoned.
So my feeling is.. on weed the body is storing water like a camel...

Great information....probably most of the readers of your article are daily pot smokers, which as we all know, most pot provides side effects, one being dryness' of lips, so it's just natural to drink water. Another reason to smoke.
Spark up all
