Hi all i just have a quick question about my dwc . I have started seedlings in rock wool i. A small res ,hydroton rockwoll under cfls. My question is as my seedling were germinating i had the rock wool sitting water in the res now that they have should i lower the water to just below the rock wool or just let the bottom sit un the rock wool for a while longer

Good question. Foremost, plants will drown if a space doesn't exist. Rockwool needs to let moisture out, which lets O2 in for your plant. Leaving space between the nutrients' surface and the rockwool will encourage the new plant's roots to seek food in your res. The tiny air bubbles breaking upon the surface from your airstone(s) hastens that process.

Have fun!:thumb:

Agreed...consider yourself lucky that worked. You don't want wet RW cubes ever. You want moist. Really barely damp. Like if you were to squeeze it like a sponge some moisture would be on your hand but no drops coming out is nice. Soaking wet will eventually cause rot.
