Hoping to journal this grow, but I am still extremely busy.

Ok, here are two pic of WR and EC first day of sprout. Put them in jars of water for 24 hrs then into paper towels for a day and one of the two WR popped and the single EC popped. Only had one White Rhino pop out of 5 that I had. That sucks.

Day 7 from sprout:

White Rhino, looks like she may get her first lite feeding soon.

Exodus Cheese, at present a little odd shaped, but that was from how she came out of the mix, all sideways.

Of course any suggestion or comments are always welcome!

re: Fall '15 - White Rhino & Exodus Cheese

14 days from sprout.
The White Rhino has reached the reservoir and starting a more rapid growth. The Exodus Cheese is a lot slower and I don't think it has reached the res.. I have noticed that even though the mix was made in one batch the EC is much slower draining than the WR.
I did add a two inch cap of compost and worm castings over the coco/Growstone.
The piece of wood is blocking the wind from the fan, the wind was just too strong for that little plant. It still gets moved around by the fan just not as hard.
Couple of pics.

Exodus Cheese, only 3 inches at this time.

White Rhino, approx 5 inches high at this point.

re: Fall '15 - White Rhino & Exodus Cheese

21 Days from Sprout

Both plants have reached the reservoir of the Hempy buckets and growing ok. I had a Mag issue this week do to lock out. Did not check it when I put the compost/casting cap on the buckets and when I noticed the Mag issue I checked the pH of the reservoir, 8.75, the water going into the buckets has been at 5.85. Fortunately, I caught it right away and they are recovering and new growth is nice.
I have been feeding at half rate and I still believe the N level is to high, dark green growth, so I will be cutting back on the N some more.
I like the structure of the different strains, both are indica dominant, stubby, wide leaf and tight node interspacing. They are both 7 inches tall, the WR is 12" wide and the EC is 7". The main stems are getting thick from the fan I am using, a 36" Tower fan, and even on low it's a lot of wind. I do like thick trunks!
In these pics you can see the damage from the lockout, and also see the recovery of the plants.

Day 35 from Sprout

Well I made it back from my little trip. Came back to good news and bad news.
I had my son care for my plants, had him here a number of times going over what to do and when. He has never grown before so this was all new to him.
He was to water with a pre made nute mix, and was to trim the plant back to node three when it reached the sixth node. He did that and it was all good. He was then to tie it down which did not goes as well. He broke them both and he panicked. He was supposed to wait for the the shoots to get 4 nodes and then cut them back to the one node. He did that after two days, was not near ready and it stunted to the extreme, plus he continued feeding with the same nute solution, I am not sure it hurt them but did not aid in the stunting.
He did trim and used the first cuts as the mothers and they are both doing well.
I think all will be good when they recover. He feels like shit, I just told him to wait to get into my stash till after he finishes the work. bongsmilie

I ordered 4 exodus cheese and 2 seeds have sprouted and is growing. I planted over 20 seeds and the truth is they all mix up now. Don't know which is which. Don't matter because it's a outdoor grow, I have 9 dems, 2 autos and the rest are regular seeds from nirvana and kc brains. I have not grown in years and finally I have a secure place and I am going for it. Outdoors Hawaiian Island all strains grow well, And go ahead and plant your seeds because the frost is not coming, we can grow all year long. I am looking forward to try autos, Aloha

48 Days from sprout!
Hi y'all,
Sorry I haven't posted in a while, was very busy and then took me some time off and went on vacation. First one in a while, I'll tell ya.

Well I guess the last time I posted was when we had the little accident. Well as I said, all will be good. I had my son care for the two ladies during this trip and he did an outstanding job. I did not have him do any trimming so when I got back they we getting fairly large.

I was at four mains when I left on the trip and they had grown out to the 8th node and starting the ninth node. I was going to cut them both at the third node but the White Rhino's nodes were not symetrical at the third node so I had to cut it back to the 2 node. The Exodus Cheese was cut at the third node. I cut them last evening and gave them a very good water/nutes, 5 ml/gal of GH micro and 7 ml/gal of GH Bloom, also added 2 ml of Cal/Mag and 2 grams of Epson per gallon of RO water. I have been using a weaker solution of nutes than the standard Lucas for coco (Heads) recipe by backing off the nutes a third or so and the plants seem to be doing well, going to back off a bit more as they are too dark green and don't want to get any tip burn. The best of any of my grows too this point.

I have lots of clones to chose from due to the waiting till 8+ nodes had formed. Prepping them for a SOG after I finish this grow around the end of the year. There are at least 16 shoots per strain. So I will choose the best 3 of each strain to clone as mothers. Will keep updating in this journal.

55 days from sprout, 4th day of 12/12
Ok, I have started flower, four days in.
I just realized that I have not given any info on my grow.

White Rhino and Exodus Cheese both fem'ed.

2 - 5 gallon Hempy buckets in a 7 plus sqft cabinet.
75/25 Botanicare Coco/Growstone
GH Micro and Bloom nutes, Cal/Mag plus and Epson, using Heads modified Lucas formula at reduced rates, they have been reduce by about 1/3rd. PPM at 600 to 700, and pH 5.8 to 5.95.
At present watering/nutes at every water and I have been giving them two waterings per day, 7 AM and Just before lights out at 7 PM. Six to 8 cups per watering. Getting about a 1 plus runoff.
Growing Manifold/Mainline style without the grow ring.
400W MH for veg and now 400W HPS for flower with Cool Tube.
6" Vortex fan and 6" Can filter

WR very compact plant

Re: Fall 15` White Rhino & Exodus Cheese

9th Day of 12/12
Nothing exciting to report, grow is going very well, best I have had to date. I think I am finally learning something, :wall:

Color is great not to lush, well the White Rhino is a lot darker green, think it is the strain. No tip burn, no curling up or down just cruising down the road with my headlights on.

The WR is very very indica dominate while the Exodus Cheese is more sativa dom, I have the WR blocked up with a plastic tub, about 4 to 5 inches, to achieve equal height of the two plants.
Oh yeah, it started showing pistils Monday evening, they should break loose soon and go into full bloom. Love it! :weed:
Really like the shape of the WR, it is going to be a good strain to Manifold (mainline). The EC is very branchy and considerable space between nodes. I have had those type of cola'a before on other plants, the Mr. B's Cotton Candie x Blackberry/Grape Ape had a very similar cola signature.

12 Days of 12/12, pruning day
Ok got up this morning with a mission in mind. Today is prune and clone day.
Here are the two ladies after prune and ready for water/nutes.

The clones of the two ladies, 13 each, hope to get at least 8 to 10 of each to do my SOG.
20151203_095615.jpg

Going to have to build a containment/drain to put the clones buckets in for flower. Thinking of a 1"x6" frame, plywood bottom and either heavy plastic or white rubberized paint, It will need to be 42"x30" to hold the 20 clones.

These are the Folgers coffee cans I was speaking of. I should be able to get at least 20 in the cabinet if I can get a few more cans, have 17 at present. 8.5x6.5.

Day 17 of 12/12
Just keeping an eye on things and letting them do their trick.

Did some spreading of the branches and a little pruning. I also increased the nutes, I am water/feeding in the morning and just before lights go out in the evening. I had been using the Head modified Lucas formula (6ml of Micro, 9ml of Bloom with 2ml of Cal/Mag and 1 gram of epson per gallon) at two thirds rate so that is 4ml Micro, 6ml Bloom and 2ml Cal/Mag and 1 gram epson and pHing to 5.8 with great success. This gave me a ppm of around 650. I decided to up the rate to equal the Head formula. I was still below 775 ppm but I began getting a little leaf curling under so I went back to my original mix and waiting to see if that corrects the problem. No tip burn or other issues.

The clones taken on the 28th are doing fine, two mist a day and I removed them for the wire holder and put them in plastic egg cartons. I built a larger cloner, just took a clear tote, drilled two 3/4" holes in the top and I set it just off the base to get some air movement. I have them under on T5 lamp at present.

Day 24 of 12/12

Hi y'all,

I am so glad that all is going just fine here in my part of the world. The two ladies are doing well, the WR is ahead of the EC, the EC is sativa dominate, tall, lots of stretch. I have had to super crop her a couple of times to manage the height. It is suppose to finish in 8 weeks, that ain't gonna happen, I am guessing it will be in the 65 to 70 day range. The WR finish time is 9 weeks and it looks as if that will be fairly close.

Quick entry
Some of my clones have taken a dive. Transplanted into the one gallon Hempy buckets on 12/12/15 and they all looked ok at that point. Since then some have just totally gone down hill. Looks like over nutes at first but all were treated the same and over half are doing ok. Nutes were at .25 rate!
Just a couple of pics, more later

It happened to both strains and some not effected at all.

Day 30 of 12/12
The WR and EC are doing fine in flower. Not sure why I did not get a picture of EC today when working the plants. Oh well will get one over the next few days. Their buds are getting bigger, not as fast as I would like, but they are doing fine.
WR taken today,

I will be doing some leaf tucking on this plant tomorrow and may have to remove some of the fans, not really wanting to do that though, so hoping tucking will suffice. The distance between the node was so very short that I never felt comfortable super cropping this plant and she is so short and compact. Her nugs and really stacking. I hope some of her clones make it as she will make a great SOG plant.

White Rhino & Exodus Cheese Day 35 under 12/12
Just a little update prior t the Holidays, and Merry Christmas and have a Budding New Year!

The two ladies in the cabinet are doing fine, just getting fuller by the day. I am about half way thru flower with the WR and I believe the EC is going to take an extra week or two, will make that decision when the time comes. Have changed very little in this grow but I have started adding Floralicious and KoolBloom, 0-10-10, at less than half strength. I also on my last watering I put in a teaspoon of organic molasses. The nutes have been at 650 +/- and the addition of these three new items only raised it to 750 +/-, every thing else remains the same. Thats Head's modification to the Lucas formula for GH Micro nutes, only I use it at 2/3 rate. Has seemed to work well so far this grow.

The clones are doing better. Overall I lost 5 of each strain. So it looks like a 12 plant SOG with two mothers retained. Would like to flower them when they reach 8 inches to 1 foot.

Not sure what happened they were very healthy at transplant, the only thing I can figure is that looking at the RootRiot plugs in this picture, I may have damaged the roots putting them in their new pots. Did not think I treated them rough.

Day 42 of 12/12

Hope y'all had a wonder Christmas, I had a damn cold. But it still was wonderful because on 12/23 I got the results of my liver biopsy, no cancer and no cirrhosis. Yippy ;)

Well we are fattening now, not as much as I expected for being this far along to have three to four weeks more according to the breeders.
I have changed my regime a bit, I reduced the FloraMicro to 4 ml/gal, increased the FloraBloom to 8 ml/gal, the Cal/Mag and Epsom remain the same at 2 ml and 1 gram per gallon. The new items I added before my last post I have changed a bit, The KoolBloom I have increased to 8 ml/gal, the Floralicious 1.5 ml/gal and I am still adding 5 ml/gal organic molasses. I am water/nutes in the AM right after lights on to about a 30% runoff from the Hempy buckets. At night just before lights out, I added an additional two cups of water/nutes to EC because in the morning she has been showing signs of a little wilting, not bad but the extra helps. I give the WR about a cup.

Day 49 12/12
Well it's a new year and I hope y'all will have your best grows this year.

I took both plants out of the cabinet, pruned fan leaves that were blocking bud sites and gave them a very thorough watering/full nutes. I normally give them about 9 to 12 cups of liquid to get a 2 to 3 cup runoff but I gave them 1.5 gallons each, then I removed the drain plug and let them drain completely. I ran another 1.5 gallons thru them with the plug removed and let them totally drain again. After they drained completely I put the drain plug back in and then gave EC 12 cups of water, getting about 3 cups each runoff from the Hempy's.
I did the same for WR but instead of straight pH'ed water I gave her water/nutes.

Well, things are going well with the two ladies, At day 49 they are both getting fat and the Exodus Cheese is really stinking up the place.
The EC, according to the breeder, should run about 8 weeks, but I don't think it will be ready then. No cloudy trichs, and is not bulking up like the WR but it stinks to high heaven. I think it will take at least 9 weeks if not a bit longer. Read one journal about this strain an it ran for 77 days, that I believe will be too long but maybe 9 to 10 weeks.
Here we are at 48 days,

Prior to trim
20160103_102722.jpg

After
20160103_105800.jpg

The White Rhino is a very small dense plant and the buds are thickening up very nicely. Compared to the EC it is a much more compact plant, both the growth and the flowering have been dense. I think she will hit the mark at the breeders recommended days around 63 days. Not as much fragrance from her, but of course that could be mask by the strong odor coming off the EC.

Day 56 of 12/12
I know I said I was going to give it at least another weeks but I harvested the Exodus Cheese today. I had only been looking at it with a jewelers scope and today I looked at it with my handheld micro, and she was easily 50 to 60% cloudy. I know the WR will be ready next week.
The EC has a very cheesy fragrance, almost too much. If I travel with this strain it will definitely be in a sealed jar. Just arranged her buds on the hangers and my fingers are sticking to the keys on the keyboard.
Just by the looks of her I am going to say 35 to 45 grams dried is my guess. That will be ok. This was not a good plant to Manifold/Mainline, I believe it would have made a good SCRog. The flower to leaf ratio is good and the sugar leaves are coated fairly well.

20160111_1136281.jpg

Six hangers of buds

20160110_140730.jpg

The White Rhino's bud are much thicker than the EC but overall a smaller plant. Her trichs are still fairly clear for only week to go but the pistils are turning orange. I am hoping to get a decent weight off of her.

White Rhino Day 63 Harvest Day!
Ok, lot's to talk about today!
Harvest the Exodus Cheese last Monday, dried a bit quicker than I like but the humidity has been low for my part of the world. It did not do any damage, just ended up trimming them and putting them in jars w/Boveda 62RH. I have been burping them every other day and they are going to cure wonderfully. Uncured, dried, and trimmed weight is 2.7 zips/75 grams. Not what I expected, maybe the WR will weigh heavy.

Took the White Rhino out of the cabinet on Saturday evening and put it in a dark closet till this morning when I harvested.

20160118_115519.jpg

Using the wet to dry ratio of 75% I expect something like 3 to 3.5 zips. again lighter than I expected. But over 6 zips for my small cabinet, ain't gonna bitch. If the clones achieve a decent weight I should be good to till my fall grow. Final dry weight after cure, but going to be testing along the way.
