Felted wool for a fabric pot

I am with @Phytoplankton on this. It is a way to reuse something at least once.

The downside is that the wool is a natural or an organic material and it will start to decompose. It will not be fun to find out that there are weak spots in the bottom or sides one afternoon while moving your plant around and the pot rips open.

I looked up some basic info on the decomposing of wool and it takes 3 to 4 months for it to break down. There could be problems with weak areas starting to show up sometime in the flowering stage. I would guess even faster with a large and active microorganism population in the soil.

The "fabric" pots sold for gardeners are made of strands of spun plastic, usually a type of polypropylene, and not a natural or organic material.
