The male flower grew to full size but the banannas didnt pop before the flower dropped off. I found the flower and rubbed it into a few buds. Dont think it was a viable flower but we will see...
I switched the plants back to 24hrs light to see if i can get them to freak out and put out male flowers.
Will keep you posted if seeds develop....if not i will try it again early next year.
Pachamama, i dont see a problem with inducing a few male flowers if you have to totally stuff with the plants light cycle to cause it to happen......If it happens really easily then i would be worried.
At the moment they have had nearly 2wks of 24hr light and no bananas yet.
Sorry guys for the lack of updates.....it turned out the male flower was viable after all and a couple of seeds started to form. Problem was i went away for a few days and due to the 'primative' nature of the hydro system i had them in the were too far gone when i got back.
SO in conclusion....the process did work, but i failed to get any seeds.
I will give it a try again next year.
Dont know if anyone is following this thread any more, but i gave up with the Gibberelic and just got myself a male AK47 to pollinate AK47, AK48, Barneys Morning Glory, Strawberry Cough and GH White Widdow....
