First Attempt To Grow Anything

2'×4'×5' yield grow china tent
400 watt MH/HPS lights
2 440CFM inline fans
1 for the air scrubber/passive airflow. Old out the top and new in the bottom
1 for the cooltube. Cool air from outside the tent. Both fans push hot air into the attic.
1 6" clip fan
4 3gal prune pots
General Hydroponics Nutes
Scrog is set-up.

I planted the seeds in jiffy pots and coco greenhouse seed soil. Within a week all 4 seeds sprouted. After 1 week of sprouting I removed the seedlings from the jiffy pots and put them in their forever homes.

My intent was to fim and scrog these plants but Im having second thoughts of vegging too long. Im afraid I will run out of height.

Ever since sprouting I have been running 18 hours light and 6 off with the MH.

Back to the height concern. I am concerned with the Jack Herer flower stretch and running out of room if I veg too long. Of course that can be limited with a correct scrog.

Heres a question. Do I continue a longer veg period or kick the plant into a 12/12? If my thinking is correct, the plant will veg out until the flowers form, so I should be able to FIM, and do some minor LST until the flowering and real stretching start? Would the 12/12 early switch help or harm me?

I think veg until you fill the scrog then flip . Top or fim to get tops.

Thank you both. I switched from 18/6 to a straight 24 hour light schedule and the plants are growing good. It's only been a day since the light switch but I'll have a photo showing progress tomorrow.

The plant thats doing the best is beginning to get its first set of 3 leaves.

I tossed in one of those co2 bags that looks like a huge mushroom oozing watery nacho cheese sauce. My clip fan is right above the bag and blowing down onto the plants. I cant see the co2 so I'll assume the bag is legit and the fan is blowing co2 onto my ladies.

Btw, my ladies need names. Who wants to help name them?

This is the largest plant after I went to 24 hrs light. Her name is Jackie.

The plants went into meth mode and the microscopic tweekers that live inside are on day 2 of no sleep.

Jackie is taking off. Terpina is following closely behind. Cannia and Florina are a few days behind and show it.

My nutes are enroute UPS (stolen/lost the first time) or I'd have started them on light feedings. Im watering every other day but will probably most likely kick it back another day to 2 days between feeds.

Lighting was 18 on 6 off. Then I went to 24 on for a few days. I got rapid growth but also seem to have gotten leaf burn so I raised the lights a few inches and went back to 18/6.

Since its my first grow I'm playing/experimenting a bit. I suppose I should have tried with some cheaper Indica seeds but oh well.

Trial and error.

I removed my netting. A 6inch square is too big for me. Id much rather have a 4"×4" square net. I suppose thats something ill work on for when i grow evrything but autos.

How many future bud sites can you see?

Ive learned a few things in my first grow. Just because it's a Sativa dom plant doesnt mean it will grow super tall. I was under the impression that they would be real tall so I fim'd 3 times when they were young. Whats my lesson learned? You can cut a plant in flower but you cant force a plant in flower to get taller.

Maybe next week the chop? The plants are short at about 2.5 feet. Each branch is it's own cola and they are roughly 4" in length and water bottle width. Hopefully soda can by next week. There are 56 total colas + whatever popcorn nuggs are leftover.
