So maybe I should have said that my tap water ppm is already at 180. The ppm after i added the nutes was 300-320 so 100-140 ppm of nutes. Does that makes a difference or should I not have added any nutes

Just keep an eye on them. If you see any signs that they don't look right just dilute your bucket a little. I think you’ll probably get away with it.

I have no idea what's in it. It is public city water yes. As for getting a report I will have to phone the municipality and see how I would go about that.

Okay so clearly I'm working very hard at work googling my water report. Here are the pictures which sort of explain why my ppm out of my tap is so high.

Felipeblu when I got home just now and checked the pH of my water which was at 6.0 at 11pm last night is already back up to 7.8 any idea why or how I can keep it down? Or do I need to wait until more roots and nutes for it to stay stable at 6.0

I just mix up what I'm going to use, I don't nutes set for more than a few hours.

This is in your DWC reservoir, right? Your plants are too small to be eating so much that they are changing the pH. So something in your setup (media, water, nutrients) is buffering at a much higher pH.

Well I have 3 buckets each has a plant in it, the buckets aren't attached together so yes three separate Rez but all of them came back up

Hydroton (expanded clay) is supposed to be pretty neutral (pH 7), so I suspect bicarbonate level in your water.

Try using RO water.

Found a RO system on Amazon for 115$ cdn should be here nov4 to Nov 21 so probably not much point in adjusting or checking pH until I get that.

Before you spend that much, can you buy a few gallons locally and try it out - see if that’s the issue?

I will look into that, I bought it already as I was already planning to at some point anyways. I can always return it if need be.

Also, as a Californian used to living with water shortages, I feel compelled to point out that some cheaper residential RO systems waste up to 20 gallons of tap water to produce a gallon of RO. Do you live where water is plentiful and cheap?

Ya man, I live in Ontario Canada right on lake Ontario water isn't an issue for me. It's not super cheap but it's not that expensive.

So the girls are coming along nicely, the GC is by far growing the fastest, I'm actually concerned it's stretching a little and maybe I should move the lights a little closer. Heres a pic of all 3. What do you guys think?
