First ever Growbox/Grow attempt!

Hi Guys,

Complete begginer here, in everything!

Tell me what you guys think....

It's 6 cubic feet, 1ft wide by 3ft high and 2 ft deep, i plan to grow and flower 2 plants in this area. :rasta:

That's very nice looking on the inside! Stealthy on the outside. Impressive. :headbang:

I keep reading that CFL's are best when used horizontally, but I don't know if the type of CFL makes a difference and I don't have experience on either anyway.

How many intake/outtake fans are you using? Did you use any kind of calculations to come up with what size to use, or did you have an idea already? I'm working on a small PC box but I think I need bigger fans before I get started, with temps reading about 83.

Anyway, congrats and good luck with round 1 in your new box!

I know i also keep reading the same, i'm thinking of modifying the light, anything that will make my babies grow better :yummy:

Ermm only calculations i did was reading that a plant needs 1 square foot of area so decided on these measurements to fit 2 plants maybe push for 3 becuase im limited on space so i needed something no too big, stealthy and also able to move around hence the wheels :) ,

i have 3 pc fans running , 2 exhaust ones at the top and a bigger one at the bottom for the intake, when running everything temp is around 26 - 28 degrees celcius which is a good average so perfect :)

BTW we have life !!! :ganjamon: so exited

I think i should be fine as a already have the big fan blowing in and 2 fans blowing out, iv'e also added some Co2.

Also i'm planning on doing some LST ( to keep them nice and low ) and also top the plants.

Any suggestions as to when to do this?

iv'e read i should wait until the plants are at least a ft tall.

Ok guys update one week old, they're looking healthy :)
i'm guessing a indica based strain? or is it two early to tell?

I know small ones are Citralah strain.

Hi MeanBean, all i know is the soil bag says ph ( 5,5 - 7,0 )

So if leafs are wrinked is the soil to acidic or alkaline?

i need to get myself one of those ph meters!
 
You really think so Meanbean only 2 weeks more?, i was planning in vegging them for 6 weeks its only been 1 1/2 weeks! lol,

I still have tons of space...i think hehe have a look at the pic.

I'm still trying to make a decision on what to do !! LST or Top them iv'e read its not a good idea to do both. they're pretty short now so i'm gonna let them grow a bit more and then see what to do.

What whould you guys do in a space like this ?
 
I would let them go 1 more week, then cut the top cola off. Then wait like another week and cut the next 5 bigest that come from the sides. 2 more days then switch to 12/12.

Since this is your first time with this box/strain you don't wanna be to tall. Once a bud is past the light it don't turn out to good. cfls dont penatrate that great so a short bushy plant will yield better. After this grow if you still had a few inches left you feel you could have used just veg them a few more days or a week after that last clipping on your next grow.
 
That sounds like a plan ! i'll do that, wait for a week then cut off top cola, the another week and ? sorry don't know what you mean by cut the next five biggest from the side.
