Day 34

Today I got some nutrients to transition over to as I enter into the flowering stage. I got some 1-9-1 Super Bloom Bat Guano, and some Flairform Bud Storm, 0-13-11. This is a supplementary fertiliser to be used in conjunction with your normal flowering nutes. Its packet states

BUDSTORM is an All-in-One flowering additive for promoting floral blooms of optimum size and quality. BUDSTORM is a pH "neutral" formulation containing phosphorous, potassium and other flowering stimulants.

Start using BUDSTORM when buds first form. Continue usage throughout the flowering/fruiting phase. Add dose directly to existing nutrient solution (for water) then stir well.

I also got a PH testing kit to see how these were effecting my water. It came out in the optimal zone (around 6.5) so I was happy with that!

Day 35

Today marks the end of their fifth week and they are a bit more into their budding now it seems! My new nutrients also seem to be making them happy. Here are some photos. Height hasn't shot up too noticeably but their flowers are looking nice.

With all due respect for Beast, every strain is different. 3 of the LSD-25s I topped never got over 12". 2 topped girls hit 24" and did very well. 1 untopped girl is sitting close to 24" and one un-topped girl is at 14".
Conclution: all autos are not created equal. Lol

It's an interesting topic I think, my logic is that since auto flowers mature within a certain timeframe, the setback in growth from topping may not equate to being worthwhile? McCdive says his topped LSD-25 got up to 24" and mine is currently 38" in her 5th week. I'd be interested in how much you yielded on average? I suppose time will tell, but the variation and luck of the draw nature of phenotypes means I could just be getting lucky

Day 41

Hey all. Thought i'd update with some current photos, a few more days into flowering and the bud sites continue to develop. I've been giving them nutes quite regularly and they seem to be soaking them up, today i got an EF CAL-PHOS foliar spray containing colloidal calcium and phosphorous, apparently weed plants need calcium in conjunction with phosphorous to be able to metabolise it. I'll spray some on today in a mist and see how it goes!

I'll let you be the judge on my progress.

Day 48

Hey All! A week has passed since my last post and the buds continue to develop. Other than a few fungal gnats one day which I abolished its been smooth sailing in my garden! Tomorrow will be the end of these girl's seventh week, which should mean not too long til it's time to take them down. Running my hands over the flowers now gives off delicious scents and I really am so excited to see what this amounts to both quality and quantity wise. Here are some pics!

Day 49

Today marks 7 weeks into these plant's lives, so if the grower's website is anything to go off I should be 2-3 weeks out from completion. One thing I have been struggling to do is accurately represent how these buds are looking especially on the LSD-25, the colours are crazy and change so much depending on the lighting I am taking photos in! I tried to take some photos today while my lights were off in both a natural lighting and with flash, I found that natural shows better the true colours while flash helps catch the thc crystals.

YE OL HARVEST

Hey All!

Looks like I abandoned this long enough to get put in the abandoned journals thread. Apologies, my uni work took precedence but I am back to give you a retrospective report.

I made a couple noob mistakes, the major one being harvesting a little early from being too eager. I think I could have gotten a bit more from each of these girls, I ended up with an ounce and a half from West Coast OG and just over two from the LSD-25. This gives myself a bit of room for improvement I suppose! Here are a couple photos from before the chop, but my second noob mistake was not documenting the dried product before it was all gone. I think I should have flushed for a few more days too.

Quite a lacklustre ending to this documentation. Definitely should finish the posting before I get around to enjoying the fruits of my labor this time round! Just today I picked up my new seeds, auto G-14 and auto Northern Express so that is what's to come next.

As for the smoke, both were kind of underwhelming. I really think this is due to the early harvest. The LSD-25 has a description of being a creative high and smoking it made me realise that what I enjoy is super hearty indicas, which is what I based my second seed purchase around. Happy growing to all of you and I am definitely hyped to give this a second shot! Thanks for taking a look into my world
