Alright, first comes my setup. I'm in a 3x3 closet with a gl80 2'7"x2'7" tent.
I'm using 2 MarsHydro Old Style 100x3w leds. Originally I had a 400w mh/hps but my ballast kept blowing fuses. I wanted to try led anyway but didn't like the price tag, and I found these on eBay for the same price as as the mh/hps combo so I jumped on it.
I've got a 4 inch exhaust fan in the attic above pulling through a 6 inch phresh filter. Passive intake coming from a hole in the back of the closet wall.
I'm rrunning 12 sites in 2 10 gallon DWC reservoirs with hydroton in net pots.
The nutes I plan to use are GH dual nutes. I figured id go with simple nutes until I'm more comfortable.

My cheap $10 ph meter is funky. Likes to jump around and I can't seem to get a good reading so I'm using color droplets until I upgrade it. Ph is around 5.5

Now for the grow. I germenated 6 Heavyweight Fast and Vast seeds in rockwool cubes on 6/22. By 6/27 all had sprouted and they were moved to the Dwc with hydroton. Today 7/1, 3 have a nice root taking a dip in the reservoir, the other 2 have pushed up slightly so they should be soon, I top watered them again today, and the last guy looks like he's just going to roll over and die.

6/27 Germination in rockwool. Homemade humidity dome.

Thanks. Took a minute to figure this picture system out but it is kinda nice and organized.

I'm pretty new to any kind of horticulture so I'm just happy they're not all dead already lol. If the other 2 pop roots in the next couple days I'll swap them to the shallow container and start nutes in another week probably. This is mostly a test run.

The 5 gallon container in the back is for next grow. I've got a few GHS White Widow fem that I'd like to grow a mother there and take clones to run SOG style next time. But I'd like to wet my feet before i jump into that.

7/5/2015 update. Still 3 with nice roots. The other 2 still aren't showing. A bit concerned that a root hasn't broke through to take a dip. I've been top watering those 2 once a day, that may be the reason so I'll stop and hopefully they'll take a dip in the reservoir on their own.

The 2 without roots yet. Does anyone has any ideas to why they're not swimming yet. They look ok to me.

7/8 update. 3 of the 5 going strong still. Started 1/8th nutes in their container.


3 of em growing fast.

The other 2 seem to have made no progress. I'm open to advice here, otherwise I'm going to leave them alone for a few more days.

7/10 some roots finally on one of the two slowpokes.

Looks like the other seedlings are taking off.

7/12. 18 days from germination. 3 growing more noticibly every day. Upped them to 1/4 nutes. Good roots on the 4th finally, I'll probably transfer to the nutes container in a couple days. 5th fella, still no visible roots, might be dying. Hoping not to lose another.

7-13 possible calcium defficiency on 2 of the plants. Posted a thread on the disease faq also.

Might go ahead and drop ph closer to 5.5 to see if that helps.

I think I've read that Cal/Mag def is a problem when using LED's, there's a Cal/Mag product on the market(don't remember the brand...)
Or I think Canna has those single (MONO) elements.

7-14. No miraculous recovery yet. Moved a 4th to the 1/4 nutes container.

7-16 22 days from seed. Increased to 1/2 nutes. Calmag is ordered. PH holding steady at 5.6.

Noticable growth on all of them.

Moved the last to nutes container. Wanted bigger roots but 22 days in water only, I think she's hungry. She'll be in shade soon if she doesn't hurry up lol.

25 days from seed. Cal mags here. Prepping extra container for changeover tomorrow. Probably will keep it at 1/2 nutes for now.

So I've read mixed reviews about topping autos. Topped the middle 3 brancher a couple days ago.
