With just using straight hydroton do u plant your seed into it once you see the tap root?

Seen them do it. But usually they will use sometimes rockwoolcubes and another peat pellet looking thing til they got roots then straight in the hydroton.

We'll get you straightened out there is the knowledge floating around . Worst case. Pop some new beans and start over. 2 weeks in isn't terrible to start anew, They are alive. So you haven't killed them .

I have a separate seed being prepped for transplant in a separate DWC
I always started my dwc plants in solo cups and coco. You can wash the roots before planting in hydroton.

You can use straight perlite too. Take a solo cup . Drill a hole an inch above the bottom. Then rinse til the pee hole goes clear. Then precharge with 1/4 strength cal mag. Plant clones or fresh popped beans.

Week or two the cup will be filled with roots. Then to the hydroton.

Same idea. Just water daily or every other day with perlite with lite nutes.

Penny saved me with the coco from my first organic soil grow hahaha. Had one of my babies stall for months. Why i said sometimes its ok to start fresh from the get.

I prefer the perlite to the coco now. Less watering/feeding. But he has run dwc like a champ. And saved my grows on occasion hahaha. So i listen to the clown.
I need to try straight perlite.

Been loving it. Not as much hand watering nutes. Can go camping and fishing for a few days with the dogs. And not worry about the girls drying out. Add swick could be at the beach for a week.
Rockwool is like that, have to back off the watering.
