First Grow: In Progress & Thanks To The Forums

I have gotten a ton of info here and had a number of my questions answered - Growth has been incredible, inside a small lightbox using FoxFarm's full nut treatment.

I supposedly bought GG which had a ton of bagseed. BUT it was an incredible smoke regardless, so I figured, if grown well, imagine what it could be... So, I tried my hand.

I am 7.5 weeks from germination and 1.5 week into 12/12. Just starting with some baby bud!

Sorry for color of most pics, it's under a light

Awesome progress pics!
They look so good

Thanks Bman - The biggest issue I am going to have is the size of the tent - It's only 4' tall and they are going to get close to the roof, I have already moved the light as high as it can go and they are trained down using SOG but geting strong/robust enough to push the netting. Ah well... Live and learn on these things I guess, but it's been fun so far.

For anyone reading this, the biggest challenge I have is that I am colorblind, that makes pH balancing the water tough as well as watching leaf color... Interesting challenge but comes up a lot in this

Congrats so far, looking good! I was skeptical at first seeing multiple plants in the containers, but you are making it work! One suggestion though on the pH... a digital meter that you can easily see?

You know, sometimes the simplest Solutions are the quickest overlooked. I bought a digital meter for the soil, but I didn't even think about getting one for the water. LOL. I think I'm picking one up today. As far as the multiple plants per pot I read a ton of different articles about competition for resources Etc. I will tell you, if I had to do it again, I don't think I would do multiple plants per pot, but not because of the reasons everybody says. As long as I'm giving them nutrition they seem to do great , the biggest issue I see is too dense of foliage in too small of a space at the canopy, if I had a larger grow box or a grow room, I think multiple plants in a 5-gallon container would be no problem at all

I think it’s looks really good regardless of the height, I had a similar issue this

A bit tall but still looking awesome!! I think I’m gonna have the same issue if mine keep growing cause my tent is only small too and I didn’t use netting or anything
Did you take off all the excess leaves??
How do you find humidity ?

I did lollipop the bottom of them and took of any offshoot that had poor looking growth that definitely wasn't going to flower. My humidity at the top of the tent is always around 40% and temp is always around 78

Day 55 flowers are really starting to form - TONS of trichomes... I am starting to see the lower growth (anything that's now shaded 100% of the time) suffering. Not unexpected. Wish I had a bigger grow-box...

Day 68 and day 26 into flower and I think it's time to harvest. Since my last post I got a digital pH meter and it's made all the difference, no more leaves dropping....
Flowers are beautiful, but not as robust as I would have hoped - I would defoliate more next time and add a second light, having such a small space the walls and other plants really limit light transmission. TONS of tricomes. They are just cloudy none are amber yet. Not sure if I should wait another day or 2 to harvest - Any feedback?

In preparation for harvest, I defoliated pretty intensely to give some lower buds a chance to finish up

So... It was finally time for harvest. I chose to dry trim. Harvest was 1 week ago. Dried for 5 days in the dark and dry trimmed last night. Final haul was exactly 2oz. For a first try and losing one plant in a 2x2 I am fairly happy.
The pH issue was definitely impactful. Next time I would use 2 lights, and use 3 gallon pots. I would defoliate earlier and use better soil... But I think it was a nice first attempt.

I used a 2x2x3 coolgrow box, fan filter, ducting and power modulator were all iPower, the light was Roleadro LED Grow Light, Galaxyhydro Series 1000W

Looks like you packed a lot in there! Very nice. I'm using a small space too. I hope mine turn out as nice as yours.

Biggest issue I found at the end was light getting blocked out by foliage when the plants got big and 2x2 is a pretty small footprint...

Hope all is well in your world.
