First Indoor Grow

Total rookie who is tired of paying for medicine. So I have been busy over the past few weeks watching many hours of videos on how to grow indoors and finally decided to give it a crack. I am starting this Journal late here and don't have too many photos of the earlier stages. as of today the plants are 33 days old.

The first 20 days i kept the lights on 24/7 at 100% power (default). They seemed to be reacting good
After I changed to 20/4 cycle with the lights raised higher and on 70% power ( Just to be on the safe side of things)


Goal would be to get 3 Oz per plant ( the dream )

Growing 10 plants (9 LST) and leaving 1 plant natural just as a reference

Using Dr Greenthumb super soil and nutrients

4x Blue Dream
2x Red Diesel
2x OG Kush
2x UNKNOWNS


Right away with a big mistake with heavily overwatering day 1. But we recovered

This Blue Dream I thought died but managed to top itself from birth

Blue dream I have LST 90degrees its also been my healthiest (20-25days)

Day 25 indoor
2x unknowns in CIRCLE POT
4 Blue Dream on RIGHT SIDE
2x Red Diesel LEFT SIDE
2x OG Kush LEFT SIDE

1x Unknown in circle pot

Day 33. Completely Unsure on when to flower. I have been Doing my best to train them outwards each day. I have the option to raise my lights another 30CM if needed, Also i've noticed they are starting to get really bushy again. I will be taking alot of leaves off this week and Also getting myself a net to help keep the height under control.

This is the only plant i topped myself and it looks really nice . its the "unknown" Also Is there still a chance this could be a male? any advice would be great

Thanks for the kind words. Certainly doing my research has made it must less stressful. Everything seems Ok apart from i am really having trouble trusting myself on letting the pots dry out. The pots are quite big and very little drainage.
QUESTION, if the first 2 inches of top soil is dry, Does that indicate that there is a good chance the bottom of the pot is dry too?

My net arrived yesterday and was set up as well. The holes seem bigger than i expected could this be a problem?

edit: I removed the 2 "unknown" plants to be safe and they are growing outside now as an experiment

The net is still easily adjustable at this stage. does it need to go higher? Havnt taken off vege yet either

This mainstem cracked in half at around day 15 has since made a full recovery and it apsolutely nuts now probably the most promising looking one. Red diesel

Also noticing some of the bigger stems are getting really bushy is this a good sign? Red diesel

Not sure if lights are too close. Still have room to move higher (70% power)

Simple answer is no. A good method is to lift the pots and feel the weight. Granted that's not exactly practical with a net over them. Lol.

Small update on the 2 Unknown plants:

The Reason these guys were removed from the tent is because they were potted with normal soil i had in the garden. I soon realized the soil I was using had brought in little flying flies The little bastards were coming out of the drainage holes at the bottom! + i had no idea if they were autos or males.
Theres a reason the good soil is expensive i guess

Got this one growing next to some corn. Its been topped once around day 28

Its Also the only plant i topped(middle) out of the 10

This one has been outside of the tent for maybe 10 days now. I'm not sure if its showing signs of flower or if its a male

What are the day light hours where you are?
They usually only start to flower outside when you get down to about 14/13 hours of light.

Hey man that's amazing news, that one I was convinced was a male

Sunrise is 5:36am and Sunset is and 6:44pm. So i should expect this lady to stretch abit now

Yep, deffo a girl, congrats.
With those hours she'll prepare for flower and stretch, when the light hours get down closer to 12 she'll start flowering hard.

Small update day 39:
Things are still going smoothly
I gave my weekly Nutrients today. and have made the decision to flip to flower in 7 days time (or 10 haha). I still think i have room in my tent for good growth and alot of knowledgeable people say to fill it ALL
Also did quite a large defoliation done to 7 of the 8 plants. (still keeping one 90% natural)

Also i think my net holes are way to big hahahah

day 45. Flipping in 2 days time the next pictures you see they will be FLOWERING! , I have Cut back some of the undergrowth. It was very tough to do but I know its for the best

Outdoor "unknown" is starting to take shape ;o (its by far my worst plant in terms of looks)

Here are both of the unknowns LEFT side not flowering yet. RIGHT side is 1.5weeks into flower

Hope everyones having a good week! been pretty chill here. Small update:

First Week of flower(day 3). I have given them the final defoliage Some I have taken off more than others, As this is my first time I really just wanna get a rough idea of what works and if going that extra step pays off.

edit: the photos make it look like i barely took any leaf off hahahaha

I've Been making a considerable effort to try and keep these 4 plants at the same height for quality coverage.

Tiny update:
Couldn't be happier. the 2nd unknown plant is now starting to form buds! which means all 10 are female. just amazing. I really do like the shape of this plant aswell. It was topped once about halfway through vege on day25-30ish
