:welcome:to the forum...

We do try to keep it less than toxic here

I'm on my way to the basement to work on my new grow light (8 X Citizen CLU1216s).

I suggest starting a journal under Grow/Grow Journals from the menu above.

Well,it looks like you had that greenhouse growing figured out! :goodjob:

@carcass I would be lying if I said it was me, it wasn’t it was a friend of mine and I worked in the uh. Middle man sort of side of it. But that’s all in the past and all I’m concerned with now is growing the absolute highest quality for myself and friends to enjoy.

I’m very fond of a varitiy called tangerine dream, a company called San Rafael 71 grows it here in Canada for the dispensary and the taste is unreal. Can’t locate seeds for it only been pointed in mandarin cookies I believe.

Our sponsor Seedsman carries them.

@Old Salt that’s so epic thank you .. I did a simple google search and found so many that was from the tangerine linage but not the actual tangerine dream! That’s my next purchase just got my soil and nutes for now!

Moderator-level permission here. You can use the "Report Post" function (at the bottom of every post on the forum) to send a message to the staff and request a thing like that.

I'll go ahead and do that for you, but I wanted to make you aware of the forum feature. Good luck on your grow, and I hope you enjoy your visits.

Welcome to the Forum @CanadianTripleEH ! Yours sounds like an interesting grow and I will watch to see how an old greenhouser acclimates to the indoors growing of a weed. I suspect you are going to pick this up pretty quickly. I commend you on your choice of super soil and to go organic... this is a very good way to grow pot. I also got to say I am impressed with your DIY lights! I just built my first LED light and get to try it out on my next grow, and I am again curious to see how yours do for you.
I also wish to compliment Tangerine Dream. She is one of my favorites and I usually have a stock of her around the house, but sadly, my housemate has also learned to use her for deep sleep and relaxation and the cupboard is bare. I too need to grow some more of this awesome plant soon.
Good luck! I hope to see a lot more from you! :peace::love:

You mentioned needing to get a water softener or filter..
Be careful. Using water from the softener can carry low levels of salt from the brine tank. But it will build up in the root zone over time. If your going to put in a softener for the house anyway. Id suggest bypassing it for watering plants.
Or use the softened water but get a filter system for the softened water.
Reverse osmosis is probably what youd want

@Emilya i appreciate the love and support. i myself, much like others here consider myself a connoisseur of the sorts.
i had a previous job that was quality control if you will, and hold myself to a high standard and i have been told by many that organic wont yeild like hydro but the terp profile and the quality is unmatched. Also i wouldn't have gone LED if i didnt research and find that many also claim LED produces the best buds. I am purchasing seeds of tangerine dream (thanks to @Old Salt )because its my current favorite never tasted such sweetness.

@Backlipslide Tomorrow when i remove the dome again i forgot when you were giving me those pointers (thank you again)

@captaincronik Would something like this be better? Boogie Water Filters
i looked up under the sink filtration systems and maybe ill wait a month or two.

Those specific filters seem to focus on chlorine removal.. chlorine will evaporate out of tap water in a few hours on its own..
What youd be worried about if you had hard water..... Is that hard water contains lots of minerals like calcium and magnesium.. you will also find those in most if not all fertalizers..
So the plants may get more of something than they need. Leading too possible problems.
Thats why people use reverse osmosis.. it removes mineral content.
So that your basically starting with a clean slate from a nutritional standpoint

@captaincronik thank you, I’ve looked into it and it’s my next investment for my girls.

I have also learned I regret the jiffy pucks, next time from water to solo cup with soil.

The girls don’t look well so I am removing the humidity done and letting them breath.

Live and learn some work for others.

Since I have the craft cannabis kit in 5 or so days when I transplant to solo cup I will use the suggest extra nute for optimum root growth. The soil already has mycorrhizae in it but they also suggest their product “myco-grow”.

Thoughts, as always thank you .

Dont let this deture you from this method of starting seedlings. I’ve had close to or higher then 90-95% success rate with this method. Ultimately it’s your decision the methods you choose, I’m only hear to suggest and help along the way.

I put them into the peat pucks because putting them into a bigger pot can lead to other problems. I’ve also put them in red solo cups after germination. I’ve liked putting them in the pucks cause I can see the root system being developed before putting them into the cups. (Where I can’t see how the roots are doing) no harm no foul though!! :thumb:

Here’s an update,
So turns out I had a rough start. Used feminized seeds and killed them (heat shock I think) I rushed and didn’t have anything set up. Trying to use a spare bathroom for a grow room isn’t the brightest, if it is t set up for it!
But good news is a I started 4 new non-feminized seeds and in half the time they’re twice the size.

Also as promised I have harnessed the power of the sun, lol not literally but pretty damn close! I can’t attach videos for some reason but I attached still screen shots of the lights.. only running at 60 percent power!

The new girls are doing infinitely better than previous, I seem to have kept 2/5 from previous seeds.

Life’s weird throws a curve ball, might have to move so in the mean time will set up 3 lights in my spare bathtube for now.
