Researched alot before i did it and came to the conclusion that it will be beneficial. So many people say its not good this that. Lets see if it works im going to always do it.
There are so many variables involved from the individual gardener to the plant's phenotype to the growing conditions that what works great for one person might not for the next. Wonderful thing about gardening is finding your own style and success, wonderful thing about these forums is the abundance of knowledge and guidance to help you find that style!

Roots like the carbonated water buds swell from the sugars
This is an interesting thought, while roots can uptake sugars it normally interferes significantly with ion balance, ion uptake and water uptake and can cause damage to a plant. In this specific scenario the plant is about to be flushed and harvested which negates some of the negative side effects and might actually help set the flush faster (thanks to that same ion disruption mentioned previously).

You may have just doomed me to an experiment to quantify the effectiveness of this thought.

Important Note: The plant would have to absorb the sugar via active transport which essentially means the plant's root cells would have to decide for some reason that they need or want sugar. After a significant defoliation the plant may make this call due to losing a significant amount of it's sugar-producing mass. This is only applied theory, no tests... yet.
