First Time Grower: Novice Gardener

Hey guys, update!

2 of the plants turned out to be males BUT! I still have 3 healthy girls growing. I’m researching to see what i can do to one of the chopped males. They’re still in vegetation but i wonder if the stems would have enough potency to make in to a tea.. plant is about 2 feet high.

It’s been a while since I’ve shown off the girls. Unfortunately I’m down to 3 plants since 2 happened to be male. Had a hiccup for about a week where the plants began showing signs of nute deficiency, but they sprang back in to action (except green pot).

This one is doing the best. Still feeding with Biothrive Grow every other watering. Stems are pretty thick so i found no need to prop up with a stick.

98119BE3-EB4E-410D-B34F-F1D5B4601167.jpeg Day 63. She is doing great. Both are female. Will be transplanting her into a 5gallon cloth sack. Curious about other feeding techniques during veg

One of the plants happened to be male so this one is now riding solo. I have to spring this one back to life before the plant gives more problems

Cloth sack and green pot is currently transitioning to Flower. I want to feed it some fire but budget nutes for healthy, fat (god willing), sticky nugs. How often and what should i feed it?

Small black pot was just transplanted in to 5gal cloth sack with happy frog. Continuing veg with this one

Btw... I’ve done absolutely ZERO trimming/pruning. Just water and feed.

ITS FLOWER TIME!!!!!!

The babies have doubled in size since I’ve last posted. They’re doing great besides a couple possible indicators that i have pest/or disease. I FORSURE have a spider problem, so I’m heading to my local hydroponic store for pest control and nutes.

I have not fed my plants any nutes to prep it for flower. Money was tight and did not prep for this transition. Consequently, I stopped feeding it my usual feed (not sure why, just got lazy).

Girls are looking nice!
I’ve ran into a couple hiccups during this flower process already, one major problem were pests. Full of anphids, and what i suspected, spider mites.
I purchased 30 lady bugs and 2000 phytoseiulus persimilis (mite predators) from: Mite Predator, Phytoseiulus persimilis - Biological Control of Spider Mites
Along with Neem Oil and Silica, I’m hoping i can control the pests.

STILL HAVENT PURCHASED NUTES smh and I’m approaching my second week of flower. Purchasing Fox Farm Trio and will feed half dose until it gets accustomed to the new brand (switching from bioThrive)

To increase my yield and sunlight, i tied down the branches with rope. The branches thicken pretty quick so training the plant would not be difficult at all.

Other than that babies look gorgeous and stems are fat. Can’t wait to see what it has in store!

However.. this one right here... i don’t know what to expect. Stunted growth, lots of yellowing, burnt tips, and spotting even during veg. Definitely rootbound. I figure it’s too late to transplant but I’m keeping my fingers crossed during flower. I’m keeping this one far away from my other plants just in case it’s diseased.

MAY I SAY..... WOW

These babies are doing amazing. Nice, dense fat nugs. We are peaking in to Week 4 and over the last 2 weeks I’ve seen major imporivement on my plants.

DEALING WITH PEST:

First, i was dealing with pests. Through research and humble growers here, I found healthy, organic ways to fight them. I purchased 100 ladybugs and 1000 predator mites. They took care of the job. I also let spiders roam around and make webs on on a couple branches. I figured i let nature handle it for me.
Afterward, i mixed up an organic insecticide with onion and garlic water, mixed with some cayenne powder. After a water hose down for 3 days, i sprayed with the concoction and it it healthy.

TRANSPLANT:

2 plants say in 2 gallon pots and both showed signs they needed a long overdue transplant. I purchased 2 cloth pots and filled them with Fox Farm Ocean blend soil. Did fead 1/4 serving for about a week to let plants get settled.

FEED:
Fox Farm Trio. Started 1/4 serving then worked up to 2tsp like suggested on the bottle. I purchased a pH kit (i know...FINALLY) from McLendon hardware for 17 bucks; cheaper than Amazon. Since i compare pH to the test bottle, i assume I’m around the 6.0-6.5 range.

I began feeding with Grandmas unsulfured Molasses givinging jt 1tsp every watering.

I’m sticking to this regimens and i hope i see promising results. It’s getting rainy up here in the NW so i have to look in to purchasing a small outdoor greenhouse to protect the buds.

Approaching into week 6

Colas are fattening up & crystalizing more by the day. No problems beside one plant... the attack of stem rot

STEM ROT:
Humidity and rain plays a major role in it but also lack of attention. Going to keep going as long as possible until it gets out of control.

To treat it, I clean it with alcohol and soak a Q-tip or cotton ball in H2O2 and Apply it to the affected area. I don’t touch and reapply every 12 hours. Still an on-going project.

Hanging a couple stems that got too bad. No bud rot so that’s a plus! Though no major buds bloomed, the bugs are still nice, crystaly, and smell amazing. Looking forward to harvest

Thanks! I’m pretty satisfied with the results so far.
I wish I could grow outdoors. I love to garden and have tons of tomatoes and peppers. Some day I will be able to incorporate a few sativas into my landscape. But not yet

Over the last 3 days, I’ve contemplated on beginning flush. Since i do not know what strain I’m growing & i don’t own a magnified glass powerful enough (and honestly can’t afford one), i don’t know when it’s time.
Take a look for yourselves. All Plants are beginning to have a small mold issue and i want to push them as long as possible.

That pic of stem rot looks like it may have been caused by damage from a bug, maybe catapiller or beetle. For stem rot to develop without some sort of initial damage, it would have had to be pretty darn wet, I think. My thinking is that it’s probably not going to spread, but is local to that damaged area.

DAY 65 FLOWER
Flush week for all plants!

These girls look amazing. Weather is giving me complications (cold, Humid, Hazy mornings) so I’m afraid i May have to cut flushing a little short.. plan on shocking them in a couple days then trim time!
