First Timer in a Small Space

A bit of bud-porn. The photos are not great. If anyone knows how to take better pics under a HPS light please let me know. This is three weeks into flowering.

28 days into the 12/12 cycle. It took roughly a week for the pre-flowers to show then buds didn't show for about another 6-7 days. Now they're growing. I have a question. I get a little messed up when I'm changing the resivoir and sometimes I forget to "shake" the neuts. Is this a huge deal or am I just giving my plant less of what she needs? :smokin:

Hey mr blonde, your grow is looking great! I saw a question about pruning... I personally usually trim the bottom 1/3 of the plant so she can have a little more airflow. Some people don't trim at all. If you do plan on pruning just make sure your scissors are nice and clean.

Have you thought of doing a scrog grow in that small area? I think that could work really well for you.

Yeah I thought of it...after the LST. I was going through the garage and found some snowfencing that I could have trimmed that would have worked perfect. But that's an oh well. I've trimmed most of the major fan leaves from the bottom third of the plant but man are the ones on top getting big fast. It seems like they're growing faster than the buds which are growing just not fast enough or big enough yet.

Hmmm, maybe you have too much N in your nute mix?

Good luck Mr Blonde. Have you seen Mr Pink?
I try not to pull leaves or trim in bud but it is a personal decision. Also get a nutrient meter it will help keep nutes in line where they need to be. If you need any assistance at all let us know. Sorry I have been away from home for awhile and not near the PC but I am all in and ready to help. Keep up the good work Kenny Powers and Stay East Bound and Down!

These are the newest pics. I'm still having trouble with my digital camera but I think you can get the idea. It's a freaking jungle in this little cabinet. As I'm sure you can see this is why I feel the need to prune. So many fan leaves. I'm wondering if they're preventing light from getting to the bud sites. There's a bit of tip burn on some of the leaves so I'm dialing back the neuts just a bit.

I flushed the res today. Used about 21 gal. of water. I usually put about 7 in my res for the week. So I used 3x as much water and flushed and flushed. Hopefully I got all the salts out (I was getting white residue on my hydroton). Finally I filled the res and put the manufacturer's recommended amounts of each of the three of the Fox Farms neuts in the res. So 31 days into flowering. Plant showed pre-flowers 11 days into flowering. Buds started growing shortly thereafter. I was getting a bit of leaf tip burn this week so I thought the flush would be appropriate. Plus I'm going exactly with what FF recommends. If the tip burn continues this week I'm scaling back the neuts 25%.

I also bought my 30x microscope today because I can see some trichs with my magnifing glass but it's not strong enough to show anything but minorly defined fuzz and not the individual trichs.

Friday is resivoir day. I love Fridays!!!:smokin:

Ok I have a question. I've been searching and searching but can't find my answers.

The leaves that are growing out of the bud sites only have 3 points and they're rather stemy. I see pics of bud where there are no stems and only leaves sticking out of the bud. Is this a genetics thing or is this due to the fact that I pruned while flowering or nitrogen is too high?

Well in my opinion you are still pretty early into flowering correct? Once those buds start to fill out I think you will see a difference.
