FishEyedFool’s First Grow, 2019

Thanks for dropping in, @DrSeeds. I couldn't be happier with the Jack Herer seeds. I'm going to try my hand again with the Green Crack (regular) seeds, on the next run. I think I know what I did wrong when trying to germinate that one. Regardless, if anyone is considering Dr. Seeds, I highly recommend them. I used my debit card (easy breezy) and had my seeds within 4 - 5 days from order confirmation. I thought customs from Canada to US might hold them up a bit, but there was no delay that i noticed. And obviously, they are a great sponsor of this great site. Drop by any time. I'm going to try my best not to screw anything up from here.

64 Days (above ground) and 35 Days (5 Weeks in Flower for JH1)

Good morning, all. I took a quick picture to show how JH3 is progressing, as compared to JH2 (little miss underachiever). JH2 is sitting on 3 beer crates now, just to get her canopy even with the other two. I had to move JH3 to the center because she's so wide. I was afraid she wasn't getting enough light, tucked away in the corner. JH1 is a little more svelte, so she fits nicely in the corner.

I'm guessing that JH1 is 2 - 3 weeks from being ready. I say that, like I know what I'm talking about. But based on Dr. Seeds' strain info on their website, they project 7 weeks in flower. Seven weeks falls two weeks from today, for JH1. All trichomes, the best that I can tell, are still clear to cloudy. So we may go a little longer than 2 - 3 weeks...

And finally, something I've been wanting to do for a long time... Bud Porn:

Is JH3 flowering? Hard to tell.

You're getting so close now!

I think so...? I got a little concerned yesterday (I was doing some some research on company time) that her particular pheno type may have more photo-period characteristics, than auto-flower characteristics. Apparently, that's a thing. From what I read, there are some auto-flowers that need a 12/12 cycle (for like a 1 - 2 week duration) in order to start the flowering process. And supposedly on some, you can revert back to the 18/6 or 20/4 cycle that you were running. On others, you have to finish it out on the 12/12, just like a PP.

So, when I got home last night, I gave JH3 the once over. And I see little tiny pistils on the tops. So that would make me think that she's in flower/preflower. But she may just be showing sex, and may not actually be in flower/preflower. If I weren't a little high (okay fine - I was baked) at the time, I would have remembered to take a picture to get some of the experts' opinions. I will do that tonight - before I get baked.

If I have to go 12/12 with her for the duration, that's going to be a pain in the ass. I'd probably have to start that as soon as I harvest JH1. JH2's production would just have to suffer a little because I don't think that I could afford to let JH3 veg until JH2 finishes. Sorry...long answer to a short question. :)

JH3 sure seems to be stretching,so she may very well be flowering-
The one I've got growing outside did all of her stretching before her flowers even showed up -she had a few preflowers, but that's all.

They's purdy!!!!

Thank you, greenjeans. And thank you for speaking to me in my native dialect. I would have sworn you were from Alabama, if I didn't know better. When you think you're gonna blaze that 48" long bud that you snipped off?

This makes me feel a little better, carcass. I think that may be what's going on here. She's definitely stretching but JH1 and JH2 developed very definite flowers before they really started stretching. So JH3 was throwing me off by stretching, beforehand. I'll try to get some pictures tonight so that we can get a better idea.

Patience. Grasshopper, Patience (see, I'm multilingual) and NO, that doesn't mean how it sounds but I like the way you think!!!! :thedoubletake:
I gotta let it dry, at least awhile and alas it is only about 36":high-five:

Actually, I'm gonna go out, drape the gals for the nite and blaze some of those castaways from Angie.
I brought in two loads of wood this morning, cut some more, and helped move my mother in law into a new place. She is about one step from palliative care. But she is doing pretty good and has lived about 4 months longer than the doctors gave her.
And I scored a couple of old sliding glass doors and will get two more tomorrow, - so - either a new greenhouse roof or some more solar panels, hmmmm, decisions....best get a good buzz goin' an' do some tinkin'... :yummy:

Impressive, Mr. greenjeans. Japanese, south-eastern American, Canadian. Did you study abroad, or just marry one? *Rimshot*
Ohhhh, I'll be here all week, folks.

Good morning, all. The wife and I are going to get away for the weekend, to the Gulf Coast. We're leaving out tomorrow morning and driving back on Monday. I'm really looking forward to it because this is something that we've not been able to do (just her and me) for over ten years, now. My boy will be back from college this weekend to lend a helping watering hand, while I'm away. I'm still nervous about leaving them but he's perfectly capable. I'm sure I'll be doing a fair amount of "face-timing" with him, nonetheless.

Okay, here's JH3, in her current state...

I think that I would classify this as flower / pre-flower. What say you?

Much love, everyone.

So many shades of awesome!

JH3 is looking fantastic,FEF!

When they start getting pistils on the tops like that,it's flowering.
Have a great mini vacation,FEF!

Thanks, carcass. It's good to have confirmation. That also means that JH3 had about 8 - 9 weeks of veg. I expect to see good things from her.

We're going to enjoy it, I assure you. Those cool Gulf waters will do my overheated soul some good. :)

Good morning, all. Yeah, JH3 is fully into flower, now - no question. And she's still stretching. Currently, she stands at 43" (or 109.22cm - for my Canadian friends) above the soil. I hope she stops stretching soon because the top of my light is touching the bottom of my extraction fan. I may have to move that fan out of the way so that I raise the light some more - depending on what she does from here. JH1 continues to fatten up those buds. I saw my first amber trichome on her last night, as well. A few actually but not even 1% - so my guess is that she'll have a couple more weeks before she finishes.

Even JH2 (Little Miss Underachiever) impressed me, when we returned from our trip to the coast. She's starting to build some nice looking buds. My son did an adequate job caring for the ladies, while I was away. And the trip was just what I needed...

I have a lot of catching up to do on everyone's journals. I hope everyone had a good weekend and a good start to the week.

Much love, to all.

Beautiful plants. Beautiful view. I remember it well. I see you like the quieter places in that area as well. The beach there is absolutely stunning in person. Rest up and enjoy.
