During an interview back in 2013, former NBA player Jay Williams talked about the culture shock he experienced when he first entered the league. According to him, all sorts of wild stuff used to happen on the Bulls' bench–and that included some of his teammates showing up for games high.

"Guys were on the bench, trying to kick it to girls in the stands, having ball boys run over. I mean, some guys were high," he said. "There were guys smoking weed before games. Guys asking in the middle of the game, 'Do you smell popcorn?'"

During a recent interview with Fox Business, Williams spoke on the issue of marijuana again and revealed that he believes 75 to 80 percent of current NBA players use the drug. He also said that many of them use it for medicinal purposes and that he thinks the NBA should stop testing players for it and issuing fines and suspensions to them when they test positive.

"I know so many athletes that play on Percocet," he said. "Have you ever taken Percocet by the way? It makes you way more groggy than rubbing cannabis oil into your skin. It's demonized in society, too. Oh, he's a pot head. No, I actually use cannabis oil because it helps with inflammation and takes away from anxiety."
