A Fremantle man will face court this week on a number of drug and driving charges, after police in the south-west allegedly found bags of cannabis in the boot of his car.

Police say they stopped the 30-year-old man's car on the Bussell Highway near Capel on Friday night, after allegedly seeing it speeding.

Officers searched the car and allegedly found five kilograms of freshly harvested cannabis in the boot, packed in two hessian bags.

The man has been charged with possessing cannabis with intent to sell or supply and has been held in custody.
