Fresh bud in butter?

I have a stretched plant with an extremely low yield that's ready to harvest, and I was planning on making some cannabutter with some schwag later.

Could I add fresh off the plant bud in the cannabutter or does it need to be dried first? I don't want to waste time drying such a small amount, I'd rather just make the butter a tad stronger.

I think you want it dry so it can be ground up - better extraction.
