GA - Police: Mom hit son for not rolling marijuana joints

A Smyrna woman was arrested after she hit her 14-year-old son and threw beer on him when he refused to roll marijuana cigarettes for her, police said.

Beverly Elaine Fisher, 48, of Smyrna, was arrested Wednesday by officers called to her apartment in the Worthing at Galleria complex, said Smyrna police spokesman Lt. Keith Zgonc.

"The 14-year-old stated his mother became angry at him after he refused to roll marijuana cigarettes for her. She threw a beer on him and then began to physically assault him," Zgonc said.

Fisher's 11-year-old son, who called police Wednesday, told officers that scratches he exhibited were from an earlier incident where his mother had thrown a knife at him, Zgonc said.

Fisher's children, who told police they had not been in school since the Christmas break, were taken into protective custody by child welfare workers, Zgonc said.

Fisher is being held without bond in the Cobb County jail charged with three counts of cruelty to children, simple battery, aggravated assault and intent to distribute illegal drugs and violation of mandatory school attendance laws, according to court records.

Not everyone wants to smoke pot, the kids, more than likely have been abused for a long time. And no one said that the joints were for the kids, more than likely the mother was too drunk to do it herself, and the kid probably didnt even know how to roll.
