Genetics Of Polyployds & Its Relation To Sex

New Member
I don't remember much of genetics, but I was wondering about the use of a male triployd with regular female plants. Are any of the seeds going to contain the mutation? Is that particular gene linked to the male chromosome? Can someone help me with understanding this or link me to some material? I still don't think I know enough to formulate a good question...

Never heard this in reference to plants "Triploidy" interesting subject...

It owuld be interesting to see a mutation like that , if it is like seedless watermelons then how would the plant make buds? Or would the buds be there just no hairs to catch pollen? Weird... lol
