Ghetto Grow

Hi all

So after lots of reading about some really fancy grow tents and hydro set-ups, at some point I thought of the opposite tactic: What is the least you could spend to grow autoflowers indoors successfully?

So I bought an adjustable curtain rod, a black opaque curtain, and a $29 wardrobe thing that had lots of tubs and connectors I could build a light tower with. I set it up in a niche in our laundry room. The whole thing costs $55 to set up. It was ghettotastic, but my roommate hated it. So as a compromise I de-ghettoed a tiny bit and bought a cheap tent for my room. I wish I still had my contraption set up, but the tent was only $15 more. Ill attach pics of the original frankenstein set up.

Prices include shipping(if any). I also converted to usd from euro.

a cheap 1m x 1m x 2m tent off amazon for $69
a 1500w led off ebay for $75
a second 1200w led off amazon for $65
15 three gallon fabric pots off amazon for $30
6 bags of 20l soils at $1.50 each, total $9
3 bags, 10l each, of clay stones at $4 each, total $12
2 table fans off amazon for $15 each, $30.
1 bathroom outlet fan for $23 (inline fans are very expensive here for some reason)
1 roll of flexitube 3m $10
1 carbon filter $35
1 timer $12
power strip/extension cord $10
1 set of bungie cords $6
4 sets of easy rollers $20
10 GG#4 auto seeds $40
1 Hesi indoor starter pack $14

Total $460

Gorilla Glue goes for about 12-17 euro a gram in a coffeeshop depending on quality. If on a good day you could get an ounce for $230, the grow would need to net 2 ounces to break even.

Ghetto grow my arse, lol, looks like you have been thrifty - but I wouldn't consider that to be a "ghetto" setup by the modern definition of the term. I was expecting to find that someone had purchased a 400-watt HPS for $25 off of Craigslist and installed it into a giant cardboard refrigerator box or something (which will work if it doesn't end up on fire ;) ).

"Ghettotastic" nice choice of words!

And nice set up, yo!

Looks good but crowded. Keep the air moving.
