@carcass Ok, in knowing I’ve never done this before, bare with me. I know you said (and I agreed) that my AK wasn’t ready to top on Monday, but I just looked at it and the 7th finger is noted on the 4th set of leaves (small but definitely there) and it look as as the the 5th set is starting. In looking at the picture (zoom in) how long do I let the 5th go for before I top it ? To me, it looks like I can get in between there and top right above the 4th node but I’m a skosh nervous.

Just did some further research and although I’ve now topped both my AK and WW to prepare for quadlining, I’m going to “Pinwheel” my Bubblegum and go for 6. With that being said, I’m a bit concerned about my small grow space but we’ll see!

Sorry I didn't get back to you sooner-but you did it exactly right- as soon as there's enough node to chop off,you chop it off... :welldone:

Day 20 (WW & AK):
*Light (veg & bloom ON) 20/40; LED hanging 26” above canopy; *Temp= 81 RH= 49%; 6” clip on and oscillating fans turned ON

1. AK: Decided I’d top her below the 5th node. Probably could’ve waited another day or 2 but I got anxious and finally had a day off work. (Lights on)

2. Smoked some weed

3. WW: Got crazy and took her cotyledons and her 1st and 2nd nodes...then I topped her, bow the 5th node. (Lights on)

4. Used some pliable chain link fence hook things to tie down the fan leaves- Did this because they were covering up the sprouts, otherwise I’ve been counseled this isn’t necessary until the new mains have about an 1” of growth (thank you carcass)

waited about 8 hours the gave them both 16 c of water to drink. (Lights on)

Bubblegum Day 17:

1. Took her cotyledons and 1st node off.

2. Gave her 16 c of water to wet her whistle

3. Smoked a little more weed.

Day 21 (WW & AK):
*Light (veg & bloom ON) 20/4; LED hanging 26” above canopy; *Temp= 81 RH= 59%; 6” clip on and oscillating fans turned ON

1. Another picture day. Looks like neither the WW nor the AK were at all angry about losing their tops! I see green and healthy growth

Day 18 Bubblegum:

1. Picture day for her too. 4th set leaves look good, planning to top below 5th node. Will likely give all 3 plants there first feed at 75% on Saturday or Sunday.

It's funny, but when they're little like this (and healthy) it doesn't seem to bother them much at all...

Looking Good,Gnarly!

*Light (veg & bloom ON) 20/4; LED hanging 26” above canopy; *Temp= 81 RH= 59%; 6” clip on and oscillating fans turned ON

1. WW 3rd node branches about 1/2” long. Probably a couple days early but I pinned ‘em down along with the fan leaves to start some LST. Watered her with 16 c water mixed with 1/3 tsp nutes (420). I miscalculated, she was supposed to get 2/3 tsp!

2. AK 3rd node branches about 1” long. Started LST. Also watered her with 16 c water and 2.6 ml nutes- again, I miscalculated. She too was supposed to get 2/3 tsp nutes.

Dat 19 Bubblegum:

1. Topped her above the 4th node.
2. She too got 16 c water with 2.6 ml nutes. And you guessed it- she was supposed to get 2/3 tsp nutes as well

Bubblegum Day 20:

1. Didn’t do a thing.

Day 26 (WW & AK)
1. I made the mistake of not checking in on my plants for 2 days and wow- they really grew!

2. I’m pretty sure I just slaughtered the WW as I went to tie down the 3rd node branches and when I looked, I think I severed them both about 50% from the main stalk. I taped them but who knows what’ll happen now? I’m pissed. Pictures attached but already everything coming out of broken stem 1 looks wilted and on the verge of death. Stem 2 might have a chance but also starting to look wilted. AK looks awesome though.

3. gave them both a drink of 16 c water.

Bubblegum Day 23

1. She’s a mess with leaves everywhere. I decided to defoliate a little and pinched off 2 of the fan leaves because they were ridiculous and blocking a lot of light from 4 bud sites. I’ve read various posts regarding doing this but what the heck, I’m already pissed about what I did to my WW. She looks a little wilted to me too. They obviously all missed me over the past 2 days.

2. She also got 16 c of water to drink.

Honestly, I’m feeling a bit frustrated with this. Everything was going beautifully until I ignored them for 2 days. Not sure how long I’ll let them go before I just flip to flower but the WW and AK are only about 3” tall and Bubbles is roughly 4”. I’d like them to grow to be about 9”-10” but they’re getting crazy growing outwards versus any taller. Yes, I know that was what I was going for with my training- I’m just super pissed and really bummed about wounding my Widow. I’ll check on them again in the morning. @carcass Any tips on why they all of a sudden look wilted today? They looked wilted even before the massacre.

Checked on my girls this morning and all 3 look recuperated and are no longer wilted, EXCEPT for one of the two broken branches on the WW. Those leaves are still wilted and don’t look good but I will wait another 3 days to give her the chance to heal before removing it. It’s quite obvious to me the plants looked wilted yesterday due to being under watered. I’d been watering them every 2 days (last watered Friday night and then not again until Tuesday night) and this was too long. They all look as if they’ve grown a good 1” overnight and since they’re getting bigger, I may try increasing the amount of water I give them to 24 c versus 16 c since I’m seeing a decrease in RO; this also may allow for an extra day between watering?? Next watering planned for Friday, when they will also get second veg nutes (I’ll be sure to calculate correctly this time to ensure they are given the full 75%!). I also raised up the light about 1-2” last night because of the wilting, which I feared may had been due to OVERWATERING and/or possible heat stress, but came to the conclusion UNDERwatering was the problem. I’ll update pictures tonight after giving them all 4 hours of darkness and allowing the Widow a few more hours to work on repairing herself.

Hi,Gnarly !
I broke a branch off one of my last autos, too - don't be too hard on yourself, everyone's busted off a branch or 2 while training their plants...
It bothers us a lot more than it bothers the plant :)
I also split the main stem on that same one, fixed it with Elmers glue...
and that plant ended up being my biggest yielder yet, so don't worry about that WW,she'll be fine.

Overwatered leaves will look "puffy" and curl downward .
But the Bubblegum is the only one that has that look, the others look pretty good.

The lighting makes it really hard to see but none of the leaves on any plants looked at all puffy- the leaves looked and felt more like damp Kleenex. I watered them all then about 30 minutes later I thought, “Maybe I’m overwatering them?” But now this morning, after all getting a drink last night, looked normal and happy again?

Day #27 (WW & AK)
1. Just took pictures- oh I plucked off 2 of the leaves from the WW, I couldn’t stand looking at it that way. The bud sites actually look ok! The 2nd branch I broke seems to have already forgotten she was wounded?!

Bubblegum Day 24:
1. Nothing- just took a picture.
