Sand works well also i did like 4 in perlite f nats were gone
Perlite as a barrier won't do nothing for fungus gnat control... In saying that, what works in your environment to keep it in check with healthy plants, continue...
De is good to add to your soil, sprinkle ontop of pot or plant.. great stuff... Won't totally control gnat population and at times won't seem effective at all...

I think it depends on the type of gant u got? The normal gant can b controlled fairly easy with the products mentioned, but there’s a second type with two dots on its back a super gant I call it, deadly
