Green Mountain Girl's 1st Grow

Today started out with a lesson which I am so grateful that the only loss, was of time... Update on the Veg. Tent.

Their last watering was on Tuesday and they have grown by leaps and bounds. I am expecting them to last about three days more for the white widows and the others another four or more days to use up their water in the solo cups. We shall see what the big white widows will do. They might just sit back and enjoy their sunshine and take their time sipping. They do always surprise me.

Crown Royal ( 7 days )

Good morning good morning and a happy Friday to you all and your plants!

Garden is looking fine here on this rainy Friday except I have one of my Crowns looking pretty sad....

She is my biggest and most beauitful so it’s really hurting my heart to see her looking so pittiful. I have been doing some reading and I think she’s either complaining a lot about this wonky light change up or I’ve overfed her believing that she was in her bloom phase.

I’m thinking about giving her a flush this afternoon but she’s still pretty saturated from her last feeding only about two days ago and I don’t want to flood her seeing as I really still don’t have a clue what I’m doing most of the time.

yes, that looks like overfeeding or salt restricted roots. A good flushing with 3x the container size in water should fix her right up.

Thank you Em! I have a large sink I can put her in so all the run off can drain. I will get her right and back on track today. I appreciate your eyes!

You mentioned a new light. Did you go from a low power non led to a powerful led by any chance? There's been some talk about that scenario and unhappy plants.

There was a mix up with my timer that I didn’t notice and for two weeks I thought they were on 12/12 but they were actually on 24/0. They weren’t ever on 12/12 so there’s no problem with them returning to veg state. Only time lost and some issues I am now trying to correct with nutrient burn.
I got the girls flushed last night and now it’s just sit back and wait. They are on 12/12 now and hopefully I haven’t stunted them too badly.

Time will tell. Sounds like you got it under control.

Happy Thursday to everyone!

It’s been a busy week in the garden and at home. My wife has broken her foot in two places and I have been trying to nurse two of my three ( and the two largest at that) crown royals back to health. Both ended up getting burned up pretty bad from nutrients that I went waaaaaay too heavy on too early into flower.
They were flushed over the weekend and yesterday got their first watering since and are just now starting to perk back up. This must have seriously stunted their flower growth, since it’s been a bit over a week since they got flipped to 12/12 and I’m not seeing any signs of flowering yet. In fact I am still seeing some more vegitative growth and I don’t know that I should be???

The three Northern Light autos have also been taking their sweet time. Their trics are still half clear/ half milky. I may have seen two or three that have turned to amber. So they are telling me they aren’t going anywhere anytime soon and want to stay in perpetual summer for a few more weeks. I don’t blame them. Me too autos ... me too.

As for for the Veg tent... well there’s so much going on in there I may have over done it. I am going to be looking to give away some of these girls to some friends in a few weeks. Wow, I didn’t expect so many of these plants to live and thrive, seeing as my first round was less than great... Free weed to good home. Lol

The white widows and the Durban poison have graduated to their larger 1 gallon pots since they were all consuming the their water in the solo cups in 24 hours or less. Their roots looked so good and healthy when I put them into their new homes. ( Thanks you @Emilya for all the help with the uppoting information and watering guide. It has improvemt my garden so much.)

Three of the crown royal clones that I didn’t want to give up have actually taken off! And what seems like over night! New growth everyday for them!

The last northern light auto I had has also graduated from its solo cup, only I’ve decided I wanted to experiment with it and I put it into a much too large 5 gallon pot. I recently have received my mix of auto seeds from CKS and am interested in experimenting with autos and their growth so that I can maximize what works best for me and my set up.
I have a crazy busy schedule with taking care of three children ( one with special needs) and working part time along with everything else that comes with life. My perspective on the garden is not as much about how much can I yield, ( which is always a factor of course!) but more so about how much can I yield in the time I have to dedicate to my plants. I’m not looking to cut corners but I am looking to maximize my yields while being as efficient as I can be with the time and environment I have. Any ideas are welcome as I start pushing myself to being perpetual.

I’m also getting ready for some gardening outdoors as spring is right around the corner. Planning what flowers and veggies I want to grow this year. I also want to give it a shot with my cannabis plants outdoors and maybe a fruit tree! If any one has some green thumb advise about what would grow well with my cannabis that would be awesome!

Happy gardening from mine to yours!

Best wishes for your wife's foot Ouch. And Valentines day here today. She's going to need extra Love.
Good job nursing the garden back.

Thank you! Happy Valentine’s Day! I am going to make the wife some brownies with the cannabutter I made last night from the trim I had. She will be so high tonight she won’t even know she has feet haha! Hope you have a good one!

Happy Monday to everyone and there gardens! The garden has been busy growing and getting bigger. The flower tent is looking pretty sparse these days with only the three Crown Royals left in there. They are on day 11 of flower and I am starting to see buds forming slightly. They still are trying to bounce back and don’t look completely health but they are getting there. I need to defoliate but I wasn’t trying to send them into any more stress. I’ve been reading that around day 20-30 of flower I can do this????

All the Northern Light auto flowers have been harvested and it looks like between the 5 plants I will end up with just under 5 ounces. That I am so surprised and happy with. I’ve learned some valuable lessons with these autos and I look forward to seeing how much better I can get at growing them.

The veg tent is growing rapidly everyday. The five girls that were uppotted last week have all been topped from their 6th node down to their 3rd. One I might have a accidentally botched but we shall see. These plants are very resilient. The clones are taking off as well as my little Jamaican bag seed. It’s becoming one of my favorite plants in the tent.

I hope everyone had a restful and relaxing weekend. Here’s to a new week in the garden! Cheers!

Good morning Angela, you can take some leaves. After they finish stretching is best that's why we hear three weeks and it's time to defoliate. That's when they usually end stretching. We can slow the stretch if they are getting out of hand height wise and defoliate earlier. That means smaller yields though. :)

I would never actively defoliate in flower other than taking a few leaves out of the middle and bottom or near the end by trying to get more airflow to the buds by lollipopping a bit. Everything that I do in flower is in the effort to reduce stress and the chances of the plants going hermi on me. The best time to clean up the plant without causing undo stress and loss of yield is in the last week of veg, right before the flip.
In veg, plants adapt. In flower, they react. - Emilya

This morning ... ugh this morning... I had a thought this morning while fixing my coffee. I couldn’t remember a time I’ve opened my flower tent and the light had been off ( and I know I’m a stoner but still) I’m on 12/12 the lights should be off from 10p -10a. So coffee in hand I went down to see if the lights were on and sure as shit they were and the timer was on outlet!

No idea at what point I ever put the timer on outlet but it could have been bumped. Soooooo here I was thinking my Crowns have been flipped and almost two weeks in and nope. :(

Guess that’s explains why I wasn’t seeing any stretch or hairs forming....

Anyways onward and upward ... they’ve been flipped but for real this time.
hey it's better than starting the flip then screwing it up, you got two more weeks of veg for the mistake.. maybe worth it in the end.
