Introduction
Given that the wise voters instructed the great Commonwealth of Massachusetts to legalize the recreational use and growth of cannabis, I plan to exercise my life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.
<TL;DR>
Strain: Auto-flower Feminized (Northern Lights, White Widow, Jack Herer, Candy Cane)
Location: Outdoor, Massachusetts
Container: In ground, 3 gallon smart pots, 5 gallon smart pots
Medium: Organic Soil (composted garden soil), in pots: composted soil, perlite, vermiculite
Watering: As Needed
Fertilizer: At start just the dirt and the sun, maybe organic blends during flowering.
</TLR>
The Plan
I hope to be following a KISS plan (Keep It Simple Stupid).
Plant auto-flowering seeds outdoors in the soil and in some pots and let the sun do its thing. Any thing added to the mix will all be organic. I'll be happy with anything that grows!
My wife has been tending the home garden for many years. We grow all kinds of vegetables and herbs in the backyard (Tomatoes, Beans, Lettuces, Squash, Mint, Sage, etc, etc). We also raise several chickens for eggs. We have been composting all our garbage and all the chicken waste for years and folding it into the garden soil. That will be the target grow environment.
The first few will be in pots with a mix of garden soil, compost, perlite and vermiculite. Later in the season some will go directly in the garden.
I have obtained seeds for several auto-feminized seeds from Crop King Seeds. The plan will be to start these in waves, so that we might have a rolling harvest. Initially, I will use 3 gallon smart pots. But I will vary that to see what happens with the results using 5 gallon pots and seeds directly in the ground in the garden.
We will start the seeds inside on the window sill with some augmented lights.
I'm going to plant the strains in waves:
plant 3: northern lights, last week in April, 3 gallon pots
plant 3: white widow, two weeks later, beginning of May, 3 gallon, 5 gallon and 1 in the garden
plant 3: jack herer, two weeks later, end of May, will see what happens
We will adjust all this based on what happens during this first few waves. That might put us at the legal limit of twelve active plants for Massachusetts at some point, at least until they change the law.
The Rotation
Northern Lights AutoFlowers
White Widow Auto Flowers
Jack Herer Auto Flowers
Candy Cane Auto Flowers
Location
This will all be done in Plymouth County which is in garden zone 6b. This zone has most vegetables in the seedling form at the end of April moving outdoors mid-May.
