Kentuckians for Medical Marijuana rallied at the Capitol just hours before the governor was set to deliver his State of the Commonwealth speech.

The group met in a committee room and took turns touting the benefits of medical marijuana. Louisville democratic Senator Perry Clark joined the group. He introduced the Gatewood Galbraith Medical Marijuana Memorial bill or Senate Bill 11. He says it is not about smoking weed, it's about compassionate medical care.

Many sported shirts and pins memorializing Galbraith, a long-time supporter of medical marijuana. After the rally, the group moved out to the steps of the Capitol to hold signs pushing for a change of legislation, hoping the people of Kentucky will eventually get a chance to vote on Senate Bill 11.
