Harvest Time?

Hi Everyone!

So, my first grow is coming to an end... unfortunately it had a few hiccups here and there with some nutrient burn and thrips infestation, but we are near the end nonetheless... my problem is as follows, I’m not entirely sure when to harvest!

I managed to lose the labels and have thus named my plant Mary-Jane Doe! Anyway, the 2 strains she could be (Honey Trap or Y Griega from Sensibleseeds.com) have a 9-10week and 11-12 week flowering period respectively. I’m only about 7 weeks in but to me (purely based on web research and pics I’ve seen) she looks ready to rumble! I don’t want this girl to put me to bed or give me couch lock every time, which is supposedly what happens if you harvest late and the THC starts to degrade to CBN.

I’ve checked the pistils which look like they’ve mostly changed colour and curled up as well as the trichomes (with a cheapy microscope I bought online) which seem mostly milky with some goin a golden/Amber/brown colour - just a few of them.

Please could y’all have a look at some of the attached pics and give some advise!

My current plan of action is to start fresh water flushing for max another week then start the harvest.

The grow has been done with fem seeds, hydroton grow medium, drip irrigation (4/5 x 15min waterings per day) under around 700Watta of CFL lights. Fed using the Lucas method with EHG Banded micro and bloom solutions.

Thanks in advance!
Steve

I would start flushing. There is clearly an abundance of nutrients in the plant. Keep flushing for a week and then look at trichs again. Shes not there yet but may be in a week. I'm guessing 10 days or so though. You are showing roughly 15% clear, 80% cloudy and a few random amber. You will always have a few random Amber trichomes here and there but I would not really count those at this point. Those are just random ones. What's check it again in a week of Flushing.

They look awesome buddy!

Well done on your first grow, we all encounter a few problems, hey i had a thrips infestation too!

But yeah i agree, flush and keep a watch, but, i would maybe flush till there a little yellow to know you have got the majority of nutrients out :).
