I also bought some small flower pots at the dollar store. I decided to put 4 pots per tote.
I went to Wally World and bought air pumps, air lines, air stones, and splitters for the airlines.
I then went to my local grow shop and bought submersible pumps for each tank. So recap: I have a tank and each tank gets a air pump and a water pump. This is bare bones basic, and relatively inexpensive.
I used a wood burner to melt grooves in each flower pot, and to cut holes in tops of tanks for the 4 pots to set in, as well as a port to put water in and out, and to have access to test water, etc.
Now Its only been a few DWC runs, but I'm hooked on hydro. I was using soil strictly before hydro. So I'm stoked.
I made the set up myself, and everytime a crop comes in I'm a happy camper.
I designed this set up to run 4 tanks in my 4×4×7 tent @ 4 pots per tank = 16 plants
Now to run this 4×4 I have 2 @1100 watt LED'S.
I made my scrog out of pallets and 45lb test fishing line. And it's working well on my current kali kush, Purple punch run.
Now for this grow I am using 2 tanks in another area I have which is approximately 6'x2'×7'. I have just received one of my orders this one was from seedman, I'm waiting on my order from The Vault too. This run is going to be OG Kush, and Blueberry Auto's only.
Now I put 1 seed of each into a basic starting soil, watered them and put them in my grow room cabinet in the dark.
I put them down 3-25-2020. While I'm waiting for the seeds to sprout, I tore down both tanks I'm using and sterilized them, checked all pumps, and filled each tank with 6 gallons of water.
I then put in all my chemicals as follows:
Def Guard: 12ml
Emerald Godess: 25ml
Cali Pro Veg A & B: 12ml of each
Terpinator: 20ml
Algae Releif: 5ml
(This is per each tank.)
Then I did all my tests. So when the seeds pop, I'll transplant from soil to clay pellets. Once in the clay pellets I will turn on my submersible pumps that I installed on the inside of my DWC tanks. I have 1" water line coming from the pumps, with .25" water lines coming from 1" line, which in turn goes to my watering spike for each plant, ONLY until the roots hit the water in tank, then they drink on their own. I just found these watering spikes. They rock. You can see pic of my tent run I've got going. The water line plugs right into the spike and you just stick them right into your clay pellets.
Temp: 78 f
PH: 5.8
PPM: 490
I will increase nutes as needed. Until the seeds sprout we wait.. more to follow family..
