Im currently growing in a 2foot tall box with 3 26watt cfls in a basement.
My room is around 20 C° during the day but its canada and winter so my rooms gets cold at night.
Ive pretty much spent all my money so im trying to find a free way to heat up my box at night.
I tried putting a hot water bottle in next to my plants and it seemed to warm it up. However my box now stinks like rubber... could this be bad for my plant?

since it would be colder at night set your light schedule on at night off during the day
maybe a bit warmer during the day allowing you to leave the lights off and on at night to help
heat things up? perhaps?

I run my vegetative lighting cycle of 18/6 18 hours of light and 6 hours of darkness from 12:00 midnight to 6pm so the lights are on during the coolest parts of the day and off during the warmest parts of the day. I run my flowering lighting cycle of 12/12 12 hours of light and 12 hours of darkness from 12:00 midnight to 12:00 noon so the lights are on during the coolest parts of the day and off during the warmest parts of the day. a reptile ceramic heat lamp may also help you if you do not wish to change your lighting schedule around.

your heat aside, For vegetative growth I would switch your 24 hour lighting cycle to a 18/6 18 hours of light and 6 hours of darkness schedule. I read a study where lighting schedule versus root growth was tested and plants grown with a 16/8 lighting schedule grew the longest roots, 18/6 was not tested. i was made aware of a study where lighting schedule versus growth was tested and plants given at least 5.5 hours of darkness grew the most.
