Hello All

Well-Known Member
Just started my first grow ever. ( Indoor ). Joined the forum to gain as much knowledge as possible. Already read quite a bit of useful knowledge just since joining. Looking forward to start asking some questions as things pop up with the grow. And thanks to Emilya’s post about proper water techniques, I’ve already realized I’m probably overwatering.

:welcome:to the forum...

Yup, over fertilizing & over watering are probably the two biggest mistakes new growers make and I was no exception my first stab at it too but I lfinally learned that patience is EVERYTHING when growing Cannabis, just remember that if you try to rush them you can kill them. Soon enough you will notice that the plants will tell you what they need when they need it. Believe it or not Cannabis plants do talk...you just have to listen closely to what they're telling you :yummy:

:welcome:to:420:and the wonderful world of Cannabis cultivation :goodluck:

be to learn how to do it the right way!
@Emilya's Watering Tutorial was a great place to start-You've got
that "not drowning them" thing figured out already,so you're off to a great start

So here is a few pics of the first grow. First pic is of the green crack strain. These are 2 weeks from germination. These have seemed to be easier to water since they are in small starter pots. I plan on transplanting these into a 1 gallon plastic pot when they appear ready??? The second pic is off my autoflower tent. I have 3 amnesia haze, and 3 NYD. My dog happened to grab one of the seedlings in his mouth one night while watering, ( The front left )so the smallest one is that one. Now these girls are where I seem to be overwatering. Notice one of the girls is a little droopy. ( Middle Right ) . So I was watering 2x a day and was only watering a little circle around the ladies everytime. These autoflowers are also 2 weeks after germination. I guess a question I have for you guys is, Should I be soaking my entire 3 gallon pots with water and getting some runoff at this stage? And then just water when pot becomes dry? I’m just a little nervous about watering the whole pot since it seems I’ve already been overwatering with the 2x a day, but not very much water, In my opinion. Haven’t given water in 36 hours. They appear to be getting better? And I’m growing in Coco and added dry ammendments ( Dr. Earth ) 4-4-4 in the initial coco, then planted germinated seeds in that mix.I water with my PH between 6.5 and 6.8. The first pic of the green crack is under a 1200w Bestva elite pulling 135w with just veg switch on., the second pic is running 4 288 quantum boards at about 360 watts at the wall at the moment.480v Meanwell driver. I am messing with heights of these lights and that seems to be another area that experience would really help I am open for any help and opinions of what you guys think. Thanks in advance! Also sorry for the rambling I could do this for days with all the questions I have.

Pot them up when you see the first signs of roots coming out of the drain holes, they should have a nice root ball by then.

When you water you need to make sure all the dirt is wet, when you see water coming out the drain holes stop. After that wait until the soil is almost dry again then drench the soil again and that's how you do it the entire grow, wet let dry, wet again

Welcome Jay, looking for to reading your journal.
What are you growing?

Hello John. I currently have some autos going in one tent. 3 amnesia haze and 3 NY Diesel. They are about 25 days from germination. I have a few diffrent photoperiods going. Green Crack, Tropicana, wedding cake, bubba kush, grape pie, and a gorilla glue. Never planned on having that many diffrent strains, but I have a few friends who just couldn’t resist telling me to try this... But I’m definitely not upset about that. Here is a few pics of the ladies. Even included the dog for size comparison

I absolutely couldn’t agree more. I don’t even know how to explain with words what I’ve experienced during my first grow. It’s truly fascinating and profound
