Hello from Germany

Hey. Umm, i have, up till now, not connected much to the outlets. Sure, I tested them all to see if they work, but not all at once, so I do not know if the cable gets warm. I have no way of adding another circuit. I live in a rental appt. I would not be allowed to do any modifications to the appt. What I have done is bought a current meter for the outlet. (BX09 Energiekosten Messgerät Energiemesser Strommessgerät Energieverbrauch | eBay) This way i can see just how much is running through the outlets. I/We have visitors coming from the States on Wed., so the project is on hold. They will be sleeping in this room, so wife told me to stop and clean my shit, which I've done. By the time they leave, my final items should have arrived. So it's a few days of sitting on hot coals, again, but here after i have 2 weeks of holidays, so I will finish by the end of the month.

you mentioned the extension was warm, which set the alarms off in my head. remember that heat and resistance will also be building up in the wiring behind the wall and at the outlet. it all heats up at the same rate evenly, the stuff you see is only the tip of the iceberg. electrical fires usually start without ever blowing a breaker.

also test to make sure the outlets you are drawing from are actually on separate breakers. many older or small apts will only have a couple. building a distro box which draws from the stove outlet (50A) is really good way to ensure you have good power, but may not work aesthetically.

just want you to be safe.

The longer extension, from living room has the least amount of end users/plugs. The longer the cable is, and the more end users, the warmer the cable gets

that is what i was referencing. possibly mis-read

I have a total of 9 fuses for a 4 room apt. Stark strom (strong electricity)/ 380v, 3 phase I have in the kitchen for the stovetop. Oven runs on outlet 230v. Kitchen alone has 2 fuses.. BUT that is across the apt/kitty corner. Not really a possibility. The fusebox is on this side of the apt, one doorway away. That would not be the problem. Getting my landlord to nod in agreement would be. Trying to explain why i need that much power in that/this room. 2 bedrooms are together, meaning the bedroom and this room. Just lights and alarmclocks in the bedroom. no tv. So the one extension I ran, is from the living room, where the tv and sat receiver, my wifes laptop, a lamp or 2, are on. Once in a while my playstation... Over here too.. just my pc and a lamp or 2. Stereo never gets used anymore. I am not trying to talk this nice. I too am 'worried/distressed' about the elecricity, so I will do some extensive testing before we fire up anything.. literally...

don't over stress. keep with led, cob or quantum lighting and you should be fine. that cab is not much bigger than some space buckets, i can't see it drawing all that much. just stay away from hid lighting.

looking good so far.

Hey, I are back. Here's some pics, I will do a write up soon... work to do...

Alright, lets get this going, ja? Just a little pre-nup info:
1) I have a new keyboard, qwerty, used to using a qwertz,. so if strange symbols show up, or words are written wrong, das ist my excuse. (for now anyway)
2) I have been thinking how best to go abouts this, the writing and/or describing, so it is/isn't A) Too long winded on my part. I will write in "Keyword style", just a few short sentences/descriptions. I will go/write further in depth upon request.
B) Too boring for you(s). I would like this to be entertaining and/or informative (**) for anyone, who may be interested.
(**) = Who am I to be "Informing".. this is my first grow, I have learnt a lot, made the mistake of not writing it all down, BUT in my defense: there have been so many changes done during this grow/construction, that to have noted it all, only to have to change data/info would've been a waste of my time, me thinks...
3) This is NOT a "showing off" on my part. YES it has cost a large lump"o coinage... I have bought anything and/or everything that I think I needed/need. Here and there a bit overkill, but it is supposed to be a sort of "Technical Extasy"; as far withdrawn from Hands-on as possible. This, as to now, hasn't quite been fulfilled. I still feed per hand, though I have the equipment in place, not finally installed, for an automatic watering sys. Too many other importantish things.

Good, I went back and flew over what I have written, to date, from the beginning. I was SOOOO right when I foresaw this build being a "living monster", meaning that changes were more than likely to be made to the set-up. That the plants/girls have made it thus far boarders on a true wonder! Holes have been cut, some again covered/refilled, equipment added, moved to + fro. I suppose it is/was (for da gals) like building a house, and living in it at the same time. I did my best to protect them from dirt/dust/grime (sawdust/glue/hot-glue/perlite dust (!!!!!) etc.)

In the earlier pix, I have white foil installed on the walls/all around. This is now covered with an aluminium foil/reflective car foil (B Product/second choice/blemishes <NOT!!!). I moved the propagation area into a balcony grow-house thingy, due to extreme heat.. upwards of 45°C!! The 1st clones I took/cut didn't survive long. On the other hand, almost all plants germinated from seed, and placed under the 46w Tleds, grew like the dickens!!

On to the pix:
1-5 The way the prop area used to be. Above the CLW SS 275W/Below 2 ea Secret Jardin 46w Tleds. Feedwater bottle to the left was supposed to refill the water reservoir that a bubbler/fogger was sitting in. From above the tleds I have a mini fan installed, blowing room air into the veg area/prop box.
