If anyone can help

I have been growing for 3 yrs and every year I have a problem with one bug species. The big problem is I can't seem to identify the species.
The bug is skinny, black, about less than a 1/4 inch in length

At first I thought it to be a thrip, but the symtoms are not exactly alike. My plant symptoms are lightening and death of the leafs. They seem to mostly stay to the leafs and they are on both sides, with white larvie and black as adult.

Any knowledge about this will greatly help me figure and safely kill

Some information about the environment will help narrow it down. Dirt/Hydro? Media, avg temps, humidity, etc...

A lot of pests and problems can be controlled by altering these things...

I have tried spraying some organicide on them. The problem is that organicide ingredients is 92% fish oil so ocourse rhey smell of fish oil. Was just wondering how long should I Waite to cut budz so I don't have a permanent smell and possible bad taste????

If it is a segmented insect or have segmented apendages then I highly recomend Diatomaceous Earth. Easy to get at local hrdware stores and WORKS GREAT! I use it preventitively on every grow just in case.
