I have a mother plant of Spirit in the Sky that I'm growing outdoors. (Apparently it's a "super rare strain"). Recently, it has started to yellow on the inside and I'm trying to troubleshoot. I know there's a large differential for this, but I'm wondering if it's just a light issue since it's yellowing at the core? I use Black Magic potting soil and I don't really use extra nutrients for the outdoor mothers, just some stuff to promote root health/growth. I also use a hot shot pest strip that I put very close to the plant, and I'm wondering if this could also be a cause. I figured since it was outdoors and well ventilated, it should be fine to use. I've had it there for some time now, and haven't had an issue until recently. I live in greater Seattle, and it's been pretty warm as of late with the occasional rainstorm. The soil feels good. Moist, but not saturated with no signs of pest or fungus.
I've cleaned up the interior of the plant and I'm just kind of waiting to see if the yellowing progresses or if it's some kind of light issue. Can the pattern of yellowing on the leaves tell anyone anything?
If it gets worse, I was thinking of just taking as many clones as possible and save the strain. Anyone have any thoughts? Some kind of deficiency that's working its way from the inside out?
