Hey Everyone..

I was away on vacation for a week and today I got home. I checked on my babies and one of the main buds are going brown. It looks like it's dying. The rest of the plant looks fine though.

He's a couple pictures of the "brown bud" and one of the ones right beside it looking fine.

Can someone help me out??

Thanks!!

It looks like bud rot. Cut about an inch below the brown part to remove the rot.

Edit- Or it could be a corn borer inside the stalk eating the plants circulatory system.

Wouldn't it effect other parts of the plant if it was a borer?

It only affects the areas above the eaten part of the stalk. Ive had squash plants get attacked by a type of boring insect. They would bore up into one leaf at a time until it withered and died. Then it would move to the next leaf.
