Help with clarification of flower cycle

When people say the girl is done flowering in 8 weeks, is that 8 weeks from going into the flower room OR 8 weeks once it starts flowering? My first grow was closer to the 10 weeks in the flower room, with flowering starting after two weeks in the flower room.

Also, if that's the plants natural cycle, is there any way to speed up the cycle or shorten the time it is in the flowering room???

Thanks,

When peole speak of flowering times most often they're refering to the length of time that a plant is under a 12/12 photoperiod. The only way I know to "speed up" flowering time is going hydro. Hydroponic plants appear to mature and finish faster, bigger under optiml conditions. I've never done hydro but this is what I have observed time and time again. Hope this answers ur question. Remember use some type of magnifier/hand held microscope ur trichomes to tell u when to harvest. I think I answered ur question. U already know, NE thing else just ask.
