I have some experience growing, but i never got this far. Now im taking it seriously. I want to know how long is it going to be for my plants to reach their top point and be ready to harvest here are some pics :

I am currently using 8 CFL's, 75 watts each. Do you think cutting the main cola and leaving the lower popcorn buds mature a week more is a good idea?

Sure, I do it on all grows. Just keep an eye on those trichomes and they will tell you what type of high you have.
Yup he is right. I used to do it but now I SCROG.
Taking the tops and leaving the rest doesn't hurt. Usually the rest will ripen fast though as you have stressed the plant. But better to get the right cloudiness than to take it early.
That is one nice thing about a SCROG is you develop a canopy where all the flowers are the same and develop evenly and you can more easily take the plant down at one time.
