How Do You Know When It's All Vaped Out

Greetings, Relaxed Les!

First, I changed my nickname. It was just too close to my actual name. I figured that was a mistake and asked the forum admin to change it.

Anyway, I just wanted to let you know that I've been using my Arizer Extreme Q vaporizer, since my last post, and per your suggestions.

I cannot tell you how glad I am that we've crossed paths. Your tips here have completely changed how I'm medicating now with my "dry goods"!

Since I purchased my vaporizers (I also have a Vapir One, which I don't use), I've not been using them correctly, until now. I've had excellent results with your suggestion to let the cannabis warm a bit first, and I've not used the fan either, as you suggested as well.

All I can say is thank you sooooooo much!!!

Kindest regards,

Capt. Cannabis :peace:
That is great news. Thank you for posting the results. It's all about trial and error! You find a temperature you like, and a peak period for which it can warm up, and you get greater results. I'm glad I could help you with insight that I have found beneficial in my vaporizing experience.

I will vaporize a bowl of the "goods" for you. I hope the Extreme-Q has been as much of a miracle for you as it has been for me.

Cheers friend!,

for all those that were wondering. I decided to put my already vaped bud into capsules. It's so easy to do. They make a little rack to put the capsules in. Then, you just dump your vaped bud over the capsules and push it back and forth till it all falls into the capsules. When the capsules are full, you snap the other half onto the capsule and you are done. I take one evey night before bed. It take a couple hours to kick in. But it works very well to settle down my stomach and gives you a nice little mellow body high that lasts for 4 to 6 hours. It's great to use and then just toke a little to top off. Nothing better than getting two bangs for your buck.

Aloha Lester, It has been awile since chatting with you, hope all is well. I read all your advice for fellow vaper users and I have to say, you are the bomb. You have given some really good tips for them and myself. Thank you, I will look up a manual on line or at least try to. Good thing the one i have was free. I am going to buy the Extreme-Q. If it works good for you then I am sold. lol. Just trying to get a screen in it is so hard. The one I have has got to be the crappiest vaperizer on the market, that if they still make them. I doubt it cuz it is so hard to use. Well that is not all true, it does hit well and warms up fast so all is good except for the damn screen thing. Once I get the screen in as far in as I can without it falling into the part where the smoke stays before the whip tubing thing, it does not leave a whole lot of room to put the medicine in it and if I push it over the tip of the heating element, it pushes the screen and herbs into the smoke holding area and I have a big mess. LMAO, isn't it so obvious I have no clue what the heck I am doing. lol. I am buying an Extreme-Q, at least I will have instructions. But you are so right along with everyone else that uses a vaporizer, the hits are so clean and mild. Well I will stop rambling and get shopping for a new vaporizer. Aloha Lester and keep the advice coming. By the way, you had a killer summer crop too. Your plants (were) beautiful. I hope they are as tasty as they looked. Were they? ( I know the answer already) Has to be yes. Aloha

Aloha Sunnyside! When I read your mail You put the biggest smile on my face, and that is the greatest gift of all. =) I am glad that my vapor tips have been helping quite a few of you out. The settings/temperatures can vary minimally with strain/moisture content.

I believe you are using a vapor brothers (box-kit), which they don't make anymore. They are pretty crappy units IMHO, but they still try to sell them for over 150$! It is such a rip off~! On the other hand, the Extreme-Q , what I use, costed roughly 190-200$. However, it is the best option if you don't have 600$ to spend on a unit ( WHO DOES??). The Volcano has a plastic mouth piece that cups your mouth, instead the mouthpiece for the Extreme Q is a glass piece, that you have to stuff into a plastic piece. When you get your unit, you may think its a little complicated to set because it comes with a lot of glass replaceable pieces, ( and you may need to order extra screens ). I would check Amazon to see how their stock for Extreme Q..

As long as you stay under 200 C while vaporizing you have the luxury of eliminating many dirty cannabinoids, and other unwanted products. I typically set my temp at 195, and let the herbs sit for 10 minutes before I start puffing it down. If the bud is pretty dry, then I will use 180-185 ( which makes for an even smoother medium ). As long as you can hold your breath for a second, its fine because it is much more clean.

When/if you get your unit, I think you will be satisfied. It comes with a wireless remote control so you can control it from the couch, it is quite cool. There are also other functions you can read about in the owners manual. Feel free to PM me with any questions you have about setting it up ,etc.

One other thing, make sure you mix up/swirl the buds around about half way through vaping, you'll expose more surface area, and get the biggest bang for your buck. That is like the essential, first thing to know about vapin.

When I use my Magic Flight Lauch Box, I like to shake it after every puff. That way, un-vaped bud has a chance to get up against the heat source. All the bud gets a good vape that way.

I have MFLB and twice so far I have ignited the herb. The first time it actually burst into flame and the second time it smoldered. Maybe I am drying it too much as I did pop it into a warm oven for a minute or 2 as the directions said to make sure the herb was dry. The little orange light is very dim and difficult to see so I am always wondering if I'm pressing the battery hard enough or if it is out of juice, although I haven't used up a battery during a vape session yet. The other thing is it takes a long time to vape a "bowl". I find I am spending nearly 30 minutes on it. This may not be a bad thing.

Believe it or not, all I have right now is leaf, waiting for harvest time, and the MFLB gets me good on 1 "bowl" of this bag seed leaf. Of course, it could be that I only smoked bud 1 time in 25 years and that was several months ago so I have zero resistance. I am totally loving the high, missed it much over the decades. Can't wait till I'm able to pop off some buds, probably kick my ass.

I just ordered an Arizer EQ from a sponsor VaporNation, the price matched it way down.

Extreme-Q is the best deal next to a Volcano. Note the 400$ price difference. I've been using the Exteme Q by Arizer for over a year now. There's no way you'll find your herb combusting using this device. From the sound of it, the MFLB doesn't even sound safe.

To add, the Extreme-Q has a vertical glass bowl that forces the hot air to surround all sides of the herbs, swirling/mixing up to increase surface area doesn't really become an issue. Other than a plastic mouth-piece that cups your mouth for the Volcano, the EQ has a glass one, and the cyclone screens that are used need to be cleaned about once a week, they tend to collect particles. If you ask me, this minor difference is certainly worth saving, and putting that 400$ price difference in your pocket. The vapor quality is also high, it is an efficient machine.

Either way, if you can spend 200$ on an Aromatherapy device, might as well make the best choice! I'm so happy I stopped combusting, and the purchase of this device is giving my lungs a break from the years of abuse via combustion.

There is a lot of good information in this thread - about the science of hot air extracting, and the reasons why it's such a better alternative, it just depends on your medical condition.

There is no toluene or benzene or other carcinogens in cannabis, they are formed when the plant material is actually burnt, but to get that body buzz out of your indicas you need to turn the temp up quite far. I have mine(volcano) set nearly to the max, and you do get the body buzz, trust me. And no it doesn't taste scorched or burnt or anything like that, the vapour is a little denser is all, and because you get all the terpines etc as well it feels more like the high that you get from smoking. Not exactly, but close enough.

Yeah, it turns brown, and tastes like popcorn. A hot air vaporizer , or herbal aromatherapy machine is a safe, smart, and sound alternative to plant combustion. Hot air extraction, like steam extractions, which have been done for thousands of years has proven to be a superior method of extraction essential plant oils. The boiling point of THC being about ~315 F, and other cannbinoids a little higher at ~ 350 F, which is about ~160 C and ~ 210 C respectively. By heating the plant material above 200 C , it is possible to extract carcinogenic organic compounds such as benzene, and toulene ( hence smoking isn't good for you ). The act of distilling a plant, and separating compounds based off different boiling points, and using its psychoactive ingredient has been done for thousands of years, just the fact is the autoignition temperature of paper ( similar to hemp ) is about 850 F, or 350 C, this is a very large difference which obviously leads to the breakdown of many other cancer causing agents.

The fact technology is where it is today, and allows for a cost effiecient, and over-all efficient mechanism for extracting the active ingredient, THC, is an over-whelming reason to stop inhaling combustion products, and aim for a cleaner mode of ingestion.

Now, there are a few cannabinoids, maybe 1% that does exist in the plant matter ( only can gain access through combustion ) but these are not "clean" cannabinoids. However, some people say that, when your vape bowl is done (you'll know), that theoretically the left-overs could be used for baking edibles.

I smoked fat RooR rips for about 5 years straight, and believe me there was nothing like it. But I'm sure glad I'm not combusting anymore. Vapors are the way to go!:420:

The compounds do exist inside cannabis, however in order to break their bonds into their singular units, you will need to heat the matter up past decomposition point. My point was that if we increase the temperature past the boiling point of all of our desired medicinal target compounds, we will begin to release more and more decomposition byproducts. Obviously at such a temperature near 200 C, we would not produce as many of these by products as if we were to actually quickly oxidize (and burn) the matter. So yes, the compounds benzene and toulene do exist inside cannabis, along with many other compounds (unwanted or not), you just don't want to cleave their bonds through intense heat.

I stand corrected....
Welcome to the site seedfeeder! You will find a lot of great information and a loving community of members here. So much to explore on every avenue, great grow journals, wonderful contests, tutorials of many kinds, and over all there is a good vibration going on here! Sorry for bombarding you with such a sharp response on your first post ever here, I hope that level of seriousness doesn't set the tone for you. ;) If you run into an issue don't hesitate to ask for help! :Namaste:

I wanted to clarify something that I wrote earlier on in this thread
I sometimes let it sit for 15-30 minutes before puffing
If I were to let it sit for that long ( specifically referring to Extreme Q), then the machine would have to be starting from room temperature when I put the herbs in. If the unit is already warmed up, I really will only wait about 5 minutes max. before I start puffing it.

After packing the NO2 for the first time when you first pull you'll see thick vapor rush through the whip tubing, but subsequent pulls won't be quite as thick. This is a normal occurence that happens as the material is vaporizing. To maximize the vapor density, wait 20-30 seconds before the first pull (after filling the herb chamber) and then 10 seconds or so in between each additional pull until finished. It can also be a good idea to stir your material intermittently if it can be done efficiently, but the benefits of this practice with the NO2 are debatable. The Vapir NO2 offers the best of both worlds when it comes to vaporization: precise temperature control, portability, and consistently thick vapor. In terms of price, it is worth every penny as the unit is reliable, safe, and made from food-grade components with your health in mind.

And just what would you do with it ? A Vape is used to save you from inhaling/ingesting the crap .All the good THC is gone . The carcinogenic stuff is still there . so what good use is it ? If you are going to use the vaped material , then just fire it up . Throw it in the garden
Got my Magic Flight Launch Box in the mail today. Such an excellent easy to use peice. It works so much better than I expected. And, it makes my dope much much better.

I figured out when it's done ...... it don't vape no more. Now I same it up in a mason jar. Gonna try cooking with it.
