Ive used my 2 x 400 HPS lamps for about 5 or 6 grows. They seem fine and bright but surely they are now in need of replacement? What you think, guys?
How long are HPS lamps good for

From what I've read they dim alot just after 1 or 2 grows, but I'm not positive, but I would probably go ahead and get new bulbs.

The guy that sold me his 1000 watt when I first started growing recommended changing bulbs once per year. They were ipower brand though.
I gave it away and went another route and that guy is using the same HPS for vegging 24/7, for the last at least a year. He flowers with LED though.
I think it depends on quality of the bulb to start with. If I were you and could afford to, I would replace them, but save the old bulbs. My 2¢

Thanks for replying ,guys. I think I will invest in 2 new ones as ive a nice clone going in soon(check my journal ) and she`s going in a larger pot and will be trained to the best of my ability. Cheers,again,guys.

Mmm you can squeeze another couple or so grows out of em.. you know how fussy are you about few g's & light wattage coupled with depreciation over time etc !
Ya around 20% to 25% use on your bulbs given grows used fo,r but flowering times of what ever grown may effect over all %
To be honest i'd more than likely change em for fresh bulbs by now
