How soon can I sex the plants?

Hi,

I have 5 plants grown from regular seeds. I want to sex them and get rid of the boys as soon as it's possible. Does anyone know how small a plant can be and show sex when switching to 12/12? I want to switch for as long as needed to sex them, then switch back to 18/6 to finish vegging.

4to 5 weeks is minimum from what I have seen recently. That was pre flowers but not 12/12 from the start. 4 weeks 18\12 first flipped to 12\12 and preflowers week 5.

Ok, thanks. I think I will flip a bit sooner than that and see what happens, after perhaps 2 weeks.

Something I have found is that the males usually start to flower early and don't necessarily wait for 12/12. Normally I will transplant my girls into a larger pot right when they start to flower, so what I have been doing is dropping the lights back to 14, then 13 hours a couple of weeks before I plan to flip. Usually when I switch to 12/12 I have already identified most of the males.
